  3. Whilst searching for something the other day on the internet, I discovered this site by accident. It contains listings for all the Motown labels and other Detroit labels, amongst others Ric-Tic, Harvey, Anna, Wheelsville, Karen, Inferno, plus loads more. Anyway thought it maybe of interest to some of you on here. >> Seabear Studios <<

Agreed. In actual fact, we all were trying to defend the unknowledgable bidders, but looking at both sides of the argument, who says you can't have unkowledgable sellers as well?
  6. Colin, nice tune another want to add to the list!
  7. On a serious note I'd award that event, The Highlight of 2005 Award! :good: I could even forgive Dave Vanner respraying my car on the way home!
  8. Billy looks like he could be getting an invite to Elton's wedding!
  9. Best Record for under £10: Cornelius Bros & Sister Rose - Too Late To Turn Back Now - United Artists 2005 Award for the Strangest Sight At A Soul Event : The Dancing Hobby-Horses at the SSCDT Alldayer! I'm sure there was a photo somewhere in the gallery, but I can't find it at the moment. Most Underused Saying of 2005: Brett, "just a mineral water for me"

I've got only the one record by them in my collection, Pray For Me on Gamble - 20p car boot buy, years ago worth 100 times what I paid and then some!
  11. What do you regard as your best two purchases of 2005? One for financial reasons and another for Soulful reasons! Mine were... (Financially) Eddie Kendrick - Date With The Rain - Tamla £3 (last two copies I saw were for £50) (Soulfully) The Artistics - Girl I Need You b/w Glad I Met You - Brunswick, one of the best soul records that I have in my box.
  12. I like reading these threads, especially when I see mentions of records that I actually own. I think this means my tastes are just as good as others. I was listening to TSU Toronadoes - What Good Am I?, in the car tonight driving home from work, what a fantastic record!
  13. You could try clicking >>here<< As for Tommy Hunt, I love The Biggest Man - Top Tune IMHO!
  14. Stevie, I posted this on another thread in the freebasing section. I apologise for those who may have been offended by the ending (Sorry Mandy ). Just to warn those who don't like the "C" word (and I don't mean Christmas!), don't watch the end of the video! Ian.
  15. Why the comments about ignoring emails offering the record for cheaper being scams? If anything Mr Fosland, it's you scamming these poor misinformed fools!
  16. Can I wish a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to the following who I've met over the past year. Hope to see more of them in 2006. Brett, Jamie, Rich Buckley, Janine, Dave Abbott, John May, Bazbond, Gene R, Dave Greenhill, Ali & John, Mikey, Stuart T, Andy F, Lagerlout, Karen C, Dave & Lisa Vanner, Moldie, Mischief, Soulsmith, Mr Tea, Mike Hughes, Dave Rimmer, Shane, Pikey's Dog and all the rest of the Soul-Source members! There can't be many that are not on here >>?????<<
  21. I was recently charged $20 for just one 7" single from the US. I was reluctant to pay this, but I had agreed to buy the record so I just paid it rather than get negative feedback. However when the record arrived it had been packed in a box measuring (approx) 11" x 11" and 2" deep packed with polystyrene chips. Postage stamps on it equalled $10. Thought I'd been overcharged by $10 until I opened it and found inside along with the record, $10 in cash! However I always thought the normal price for a 7" from the US to the UK to be about $5-$7.
  22. Or then again this!
  23. Not as dodgy as this tho'
  24. May I also extend my humble gratitude, thanks Mike. Through this site I've met some weird and wonderful people, Janine, Brett, Jamie, Rich Buckley, Dave Abbott, Karen C, Soulsmith, Moldie amongst others. Thinking about it, you've got a lot to answer for Mr Hughes!
