What do you regard as your best two purchases of 2005? One for financial reasons and another for Soulful reasons! Mine were... (Financially) Eddie Kendrick - Date With The Rain - Tamla £3 (last two copies I saw were for £50) (Soulfully) The Artistics - Girl I Need You b/w Glad I Met You - Brunswick, one of the best soul records that I have in my box.

I like reading these threads, especially when I see mentions of records that I actually own. I think this means my tastes are just as good as others. I was listening to TSU Toronadoes - What Good Am I?, in the car tonight driving home from work, what a fantastic record!

I was recently charged $20 for just one 7" single from the US. I was reluctant to pay this, but I had agreed to buy the record so I just paid it rather than get negative feedback. However when the record arrived it had been packed in a box measuring (approx) 11" x 11" and 2" deep packed with polystyrene chips. Postage stamps on it equalled $10. Thought I'd been overcharged by $10 until I opened it and found inside along with the record, $10 in cash! However I always thought the normal price for a 7" from the US to the UK to be about $5-$7.

Or then again this!
