I was just looking at the Johnny Howard topic, obviously mentioned on there is The Artistics version. It got me thinking about The Artistics and the many top tunes they've done, so I was just wondering what everyone's favourite was? I'm not going to list them, as I will admit to not knowing them all! My current fav is the recent purchase that I made, Hope We Have on Brunswick. :good:
  2. Have they got a customer's complaint service? To be honest, I saw the first few lines and didn't even bother looking any further!
  3. At least some of you could relax at home, I had to work!

Record Prices, Too Dear?? That all depends on your own opinion. I am probably in a similar position to yourself, wife and 3 kids (no cats!) with limited funds to spend. I have only really started buying vinyl again in the past year and I am buying the cheaper tunes £5 - £25 per single. As for CD's having duplicate tracks on them, my advice would be give the Kent CD's a try. At the end of the day it's your money, and what you spend it on is your business and nobody elses. As long as you're happy that's all that matters. Just remember, a record is only worth as much as you are willing to pay for it.

After the recent discussions and what at sometimes seem to have been negative posts, thought I'd try and get back to what we all like, THE RECORDS! Even more added to the box, more recent purchases... The Artistics - Hope We Have - Brunswick (Thanks, Godz) Little Charles - I'll Guess I'll Have To Take Whats Left - Jewel Jimmy Ruffin - What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted - TMG 577 (20p car boot - Manship has listed for £10!) The Four Tops - Something About You - Motown (Sounded great at Chalfont) The Occasions - Theres No You - Big Jim (recommendation from here, after my first post last year!) Maxine Brown - It's Torture - Kent (hasn't actually arrived yet, but been paid for, waiting eagerly by letterbox ) One last thing my wants list could do with adding to, any suggestions for cheap originals under £25, much appreciated. The following are just some of what I've purchased in the last year after receiving suggestions on here, thanks to all of you that took the time to do so. JIMMY INTERVAL: Somebody To Love (Columbia) MARY WELLS: Keep Me In Suspense (Atco) SUPERLATIVES: Lonely In A Crowd (Westbound) THE FIVE STAIRSTEPS: Change Of Pace (Windy City) THE BABIES: The Hand Of Fate (Dunhill) THE PROPHETS: My Kind Of Girl (Stephanye) JIMMY NORMAN: This I Beg Of You (Samar) EDDIE & ERNIE: Outcast (Eastern) JUANITA WILLIAMS: Baby Boy (Golden World) ACCENTS: New Girl (M-Pac) LORRAINE RUDOLPH: Keep Coming Back For More (Jet Stream) BETTY LAVETTE: I'm Just A Fool For You/Stand Up Like A Man (Calla) SYL JOHNSON: Try Me (Twilight) THE PRECISIONS: Instant Heartbreak (Drew)

  20. I've got a copy of this on "BB" records. Saw a copy for sale at Solid Hit Soul for a tenner (on Swan) hesitated, then when I went back to get it, it'd been sold! If anyone has a copy of Our Love Will Grow on Swan for sale (at a reasonable price) let us know, please.

  23. Don't think you can. I'm sure Mike will be able to say why, I think it's got something to do with trying to prevent bootlegging or something. I could be wrong though.
  24. What you need James is a nice checked Ben Sherman Button Down, plus a pair of 501's, moustache, etc., etc.,
