I Have Faith In You
Pete, (call me thick if you want) I take it you're saying that Doni was white. You learn something new everyday. I sometimes think that people prefer the version that they first hear. It's interesting how this covers the subjects of black & white (if that's the case) and cheap & expensive versions. Doni's is good, just I don't think it's as good as Edwins. Trevski, how can you say that you don't like Edwin's voice?!

I Have Faith In You
I've just been on the Soul Club site and selected 7 tracks at random to listen to. One of the tracks was Doni Burdick's version of I Have Faith In You. I have the Edwin Starr version and always turn up the volume to it when it's playing in the car. My questions are, was Doni Burdick's version ever released on a single? Who's was the original, Doni or Edwin's? Also (knowing my luck it won't be) would it cost the same as Edwin's, about £15?

Has Anyone Got Any Answers For The Quiz Then?
Pete, any chance of doing a quiz of tracks I might know? 30. The Maytals - Pressure Drop 31. Roland Alphonso - Phoenix City 32. Prince Buster - Ten Commandments or Judge Dread? 33. If I was guessing - The Ethiopians? 34. A Judge Dread Track? Let us know the answers, please.

Buying Records
possibly the one and same dealer My first post on this forum was for suggestions on cheap originals, got lots of response. I then made a list, problem is I keep adding to it! Also you could sign up to email lists, like our old friends Pete S, Andy Dyson, Henry Atkinson, Pat Brady, Adey Pierce and others do. I understand Pete S is like John Lewis Stores - Never Knowingly Undersold!

Ebay Scam
Restores your faith in people, the way people of different countries work together to expose these crooks! I remember reading about a similar tactic, used against the old African bank funds scam.

Roger Stewart
And when exactly did Timmy Mallett play at The 100 Club?

Roger Stewart
I hope it's nothing too serious and that he's on the mend. Get Well Soon, Roger. I've only ever spoken to Roger when buying records off him, but he's always struck me as a thoroughly decent chap! Whilst we're on the subject of Roger, why is he never mentioned when others talk about top DJ's? If I see his name on any flyers I always try to get along if it's possible, never heard him play a bad set! Alison, I don't mean to be fussy, but are patients allowed mobiles in hospital now?

Fabulous Darlene Love Track
Pete, yet another one of your MP3's I can't play! You were right, I'll have to trade in the old Amiga. Luckily I've got it already on a CD, The Best Of Darlene Love (Marginal, Brussels), bought off Ebay sometime last year. Purely for this track as I was told on here that it wasn't available as a single. Also on it is Too Late To Say You're Sorry, which everytime I see a copy of for sale, seems to go for about £150 - £200+! Why is it all the records I want are the ones I can't afford!

Kent 6t's 100 Club Anniversary Singles
Without wishing to offend those that attended, are you refering to the single or CD, Ady? If the single, could you let me know by email how much you'd be willing to sell one? I say by email, because half the vultures on here would beat me to 'em!

Kent 6t's 100 Club Anniversary Singles
I think I've just witnessed for the first time, a record go up in value over night. I was just browsing on Manship's site and was interested in the (Ady's)Kent releases, mainly the 100 Club anniversary singles. The one that has raised my eyebrows is the one from 2000. Junior McGants - Try Me For Your New Love b/w Garland Green - Come Through Me I'm positive that a couple of days ago it was up for sale at £60,which seemed to be double or even treble what the others were going for. This morning I see it's up for sale at £75! Coincidentally one copy was sold on ebay for £43 yesterday, would this be a good enough reason for it to rise in value? Do you think it is worth £75? Is it available on any of the Kent CD's? And finally Ady, have you got a spare copy? I know they were originally only given out at the 100 Club in limited numbers. I suppose I'm just feeling a bit peeved with myself for not attending the 100 Club more often (Apologies, Ady). While we're on the subject, which anniversary single is your favourite? Mine's this years one by The Magicians b/w Wee Willie Walker, because I was handed it by the lovely Kolla! (nothing to do with not attending any of the others, whatsoever )

Another Ebay Puzzle
I'll give you 75 for it.....£13.75!
-
Christmas Overkill
I think another reason for low attendances, could possibly be due to alot of people attending work do's.

Bargain, Bootleg Or Just Not Todays Cuppa?
I'd never heard of this. So thought I'd have a look at Manships site to find out more. He's got a mint minus copy up for sale at £75. It had a soundclip by it, so after listening (to admittedly only a small part of the record) to it, I'm glad to say I wouldn't have paid £15 for it let alone £75!
