  1. So have I.
  2. I only agree with warning people about Ebay sellers, who do not send stuff that's been paid for (or sell stuff that isn't as described i.e mint when its scratched to f**k!). As for the original point about hyping up the descriptions, well a seller is trying to make money. Nobody forces anybody to bid on anything they don't want! If people want to pay over the odds for something that's down to them. For every over-priced record on there, there's an under-priced tune to be had. As for me I just go for stuff I want (or can afford) and generally stick with just a few same sellers. One seller who I regularly buy from (normally around pay day ) is RECORDMANX in the States. Always gave good descriptions and I've never had any problems with him. Remember Boys & Girls, ALWAYS CHECK THE FEEDBACK!

I Like Having You Around. It's on the turntable at the moment, after reading this post. One other thing they are not bootlegs on Ebay, they are Re-issues (Ebay don't allow the selling of bootlegs, surely?)!

Sure I read on another topic (on forum), that someones insurers wouldn't pay out, because the records weren't photographed! I could've misred it tho'.
  5. On mine in runout groove on the A Side, is clearly stamped ZSP113544-1A. On the B Side (Boston Monkey), it's clearly stamped ZSP113543-1A. I'm assuming I wasn't misled and it is an original (definately is styrene), thanks for your answers anyway. It was just that I wasn't sure, because of the print concerning the Publisher, Jalynne Music (being on mine and not the other).

I've finally found a record in all these lists I actually own (car boot purchase for a quid)!
  7. I don't have too many records on original labels, but I bought a copy of Billy Butler's - Right Track on Okeh, believing that it was an original (off Ebay some time last year!). Only I'm a bit confused! Anyway I've seen some more with a slightly different label, with regards to serial numbers. Which is the original out of the following two records (or are they both original issues?): Record 1: Not My Copy! Record 2: My Copy! One of you must know!
  8. I remember on the Coast To Coast film, they played "It Should've Been Me" at a wedding reception in Liverpool. Which of course results in a punch-up! I had played at my wedding reception, Frank Wilson's - Do I Love You.
  9. C'mon, let's be honest. Dean Barlow is crap!

Well, I've been interested in this topic. I liked it so much I added it to my wants list, before I found out it's value. I'd love to have bought it, but unfortunately £490 is about £470 above what I normally pay for a single! Toby (you jammy git), I'll go mad and give you £40 for it! ;-) Finally, I just thought it was a great tune! Isn't that what makes certain records great and not their price?
  11. I've seen on John Manship's site that he sells a Soul Pack for £50, containing 50 singles.

There's a copy of this on Ebay (here). I saw this before any bids had been made, anyway I've never heard it, so I managed to find it on the Soul Club site. Listened to it, liked it and then bid on it. Unfortunately, I've been outbid (no surprise) and it still hasn't reached it's reserve. So could anybody tell me how much I'd have to pay (or save up!) to get a copy?

Here's mine, don't expect anything rare or expensive (& in some cases original!). By the way they're not in any particular order. Billy Butler - Come Over To My Side - Brunswick Juanita Williams - Baby Boy - Golden World The Metros - Time Changes Things - RCA Victor The Five Stairsteps - Change Of Pace - Windy C Carla Thomas - I'll Never Stop Loving You - Kent The Magicians - (Just A Little)Faith And Understanding - Kent (6T's 25th Anniversary Single) Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - Get Out - Vogue (French Issue, always get outbid for Landa copies on Ebay!) James Barnett - Keep On Talking - Fame (Bootleg Alert!) Linda Lloyd - Breakaway - CD Terry Callier - Ordinary Joe - CD
  14. Is this the same Phil Collins (multi-millionaire!) who sang about the homeless(another day in paradise?), and then said he couldn't afford to live in England if Labour got into power. I do believe the hypocritical tosser lives in Switzerland now.
  15. Just out of interest, how much would it cost to purchase an original copy of this?
  16. I was just browsing Mr Manships site and he seems to have the copy with The Vanguards on the otherside up for sale.
  17. Two nuns in a bath, First nun says "Where's the soap?" Second nun says "yes, it does doesn't it!" ;-)
  18. The price might not be so bad if it's an original, just hope the buyer hasn't bought a reissue or bootleg! ;-)
  19. Looks to me like someone trying to get in the papers! A couple of Merchant Bankers! ;-)

Think i'll wait until near the end of bidding before showing my hand! it's gotta be worth £50 of anybody's money. ;-) I always thought it was as rare as rocking horse sh*t!

Having "2 Left Feet" usually makes me stand out (or fall over)! ;-)

Whilst browsing on Ebay and in particular the seller, recordmanx, I saw the following record at $6.99. I've bought quite a few records from him without any problems, whatsoever, so I was interested in this one. Two Plus Two - I'm Sure - Velgo It had a soundclip, which is unusal for recordmanx, anyway it sounded quite good. I thought I'd keep an eye on it, anyway it finally went for $6000.00 (approx £3,000+ ?), well out of my price league! I was just wondering if anybody had any info and who said there was no more northern records to discover? P.S. I think it's a class tune, IMHO.

Surprised to see a couple of tracks (Mary Wells - I'm Learning & Syl Johnson - Try Me), I've actually got in my meagre collection. As for my choice, a recent recommendation (& acquistion) I received from Gene R. The Five Stairsteps - Change Of Pace (Windy City)
