Film: Souled Out
- films: Function At the Junction (new film)
Is this not a different topic title ... I did not see souled out in the topic title.. Just start your own thread or people could get confused... You can drop in my freind with info, just do it in your own topic.... I think thats the rules on here .. You could also introduce yourself in the new members section, its always nice to know a thing or two about new members...- Sad State Of Affairs
Maybe there still is.... Maybe you aint underground anymore and don't see it.... Underground does mean you have to go and find it and not have everything on google search.....- Master Of Ceremonies
I would have bought tickets to watch that performance Alittle use can bring all the club together sometimes, depends on delivery and what feeling you have for the music/crowd sometimes.. Like any other art form... Some are smooth as velvet and draw you into the show with the odd word here and there, i like to see passion too in parts.. Others are just out of work bingo callers with a bag of gravel It can look and sound so nice and really add to the performance or it can be Russ Abbot meets Bernard Manning.. King of the mic.... Richard Searling maybe... His radio work would help with this i guess...- films: Function At the Junction (new film)
Thinly disguised Soul Sam ... Do you really think the production team had heard of or ever seen soul sam .. I will ask the producer/director though out of interest.. I liked the part played by Paul Kaye, as did many others but i can see how he pissed a few off also Thanks for bringing this news of FATJ to my attention... Its been a long time coming...- Odd Question For You
Bombarding your inbox Sounds like something from a carry on Film... I have had emails from Ray, not pms..- Charity Events
Sometime its not so easy to get your thoughts down in text and things can get out of hand... I was not knocking the lots of good charity work but the antics of a few.. Time to put this baby to bed and i will reply in pms to comments by Bouge/ Chrissie and others when i get a chance, you have valid points indeed, as do many others.. time to close this little baby..- Anyone For Prestwich?
They should call you Sherlock Holmes..- Charity Events
Not one Reg... But so so many sent to my email now and seen in events... The odd charity event was nice to see, its good to know that some people do care for others.... this overkill, the new buzz idea for promoters is just too much for me and other too.. The sun is trying to get through the clouds.. All hope aint lost just yet Rod....- Charity Events
Yes indeed Joan.. Sorry if it seems harsh Winnie.. Its just the way they are put out...- Charity Events
A different section for fancy dress event too.... No..... A different planet please Tin hat on Dave but nowt against these events but its all that headline banner stuff that goes with it... You should have seen my post before the edit- Charity Events
Everytime i click on events there is another charity event Do you think its a case of people who set up these events then get a chance to dj or do we just have so many caring people on this scene.... Not against charity really but the overkill is tooooooooooo much... I want bright thinking promoters who focus on quality music and provide us with quality djs too.. We can give to charity in other ways but keep them headline banners away from me.. Maybe another section for charity events If i did a charity event then i would just include that maybe in a line with all the details.. Not make it the headline banner.. The northern soul landmine charity all dayer headline just don't get me moist..- Overseas Weekender Recomendations
I will ask Mike then, many could plan holidays well in advance then..- Lost Soul
I can get great pleasure at home with a few mates and tunes but going out is for the dancing, thats what i love to do.. Maybe when i can't or don't want to dance anymore then i will stay away...- Thrush.. Doggy Style Or Martini
Just been thinking about tunes that we have heard in our soul life... There are some that you have heard/liked and danced to in the past but you aint too fussed if you never hear them again... They are now as welcome as second attack of vd or thrush... They just got so much hammer and now you realise they aint as good as you thought, you have heard many since to replace them... The second are tunes you have always loved but hope they get a rest because any more hammer will drive you away from them also.. And last but not least.. The timeless records that you know and love.... Some you aint heard for many a moon and then you hear it again and it sounds as fresh and soulful as ever.... Lets say up to 5 records in each of the the three boxes.. I will add mine later after work... Its of interest to many as to what rocks your boat, a classic floorfiller in one club could go down as well as me singing the blues at a clan rally some other place..... I have been on the soul trail all over this country and Europe/worldwide for many years and have been to so many different club nights and heard so many different sounds.. No tune is a bad tune to all, we all read from the same menu but have different tastes for sure.... Lets call this a survey of likes around the soul globe... Would be nice to get promoters/djs and punters from all over the uk and Overseas onto this one.... There is no right or wrong.. You love what you love.... I think the Casuleers.. Dance Dance Dance is like the worst dream you ever had, you wake up with that sweat and fear .. To others this tune will get them moist always... A bit of fun for a Monday... Just one from each, will add others later... 1..VD/THRUSH.. Just a bad memory.. Just one to get me going... Casuleers.. Dance Dance Dance 2... Doggy style... Really really nice but time for a rest now... Robert Tanner... Sweet memories.. 3.. Martini tunes.... Anytime anyplace anywhere.. J.B.Troy... Craig Charles was at the Hideaway on Saturday...- Overseas Weekender Recomendations
There is so much going on overseas Blake and we take advantage of that to get around some great places, see culture and have the soul there too.. Good point Mike.. Many folk who were throwing money at big buck tunes are now on the hunt for cheaper underplayed/semi knowns etc.. I have always done that because i aint got a choice, don't have the big bucks but a decent size pencil.. So many folk have gone on a mad blitz of cash to catch up and have the so called big tunes, many of them are really washed out as well... I like djs to find there own sound and not be some northern soul jukebox.. And i have heard about the size of your pencil Mike- Lattimore Brown

Message for Dave Moore from a guy down my local.. He aint a member on this site, he runs the No sleep till Corrie classic soul forum... I told him i would pass on his message... Hi Dave I am a local dj in Manchester who puts on nights at the dog and Ferret 6 nights a week, no need for decks in there with the latest dj mix cd turntables.. I would come and play at your weekender if you have the same decks, who needs that vinyl anymore... Just book me a flight, 3 nights in a 4 star, food, pussy and and a bag of marching powder... I have been on the scene since 1967 and still have the same vest from Wigan with sweat stains from the last night there.... I can bring our Vera and maybe a couple more people if you can stick some names on my guest list... I have also done nights at the talc and towel, a very well loved chain pub that promotes real soul music.. Make sure the mic is good quality, i like to give the bastard some hammer after a few pints and some of the other... Can also bring you my resident djs with over 400 years of soul life between them.. No need for hotel for this lot, the only sleep Wednesdays after Corrie and then its the weekend again... As a dj team we go under the name of nine times out of 10... That means we get the crowd moist with our classics 9 times out of ten, ha ha ha.... You could give us a block booking for the next few years if you want, we are really in demand and looking to other well established weekenders too.. Right lets fu£king have it! Don't delay Look forward to your reply and booking confirmation.. Keep the faith.. Black and White unite soul brothers...
