  1. Freaky, just got this on the decks and saw the thread...
  2. I thought I only went to all-niters there but those years were all a bit blurry... (did love the revolving floor, quite revolutionary in them days...) I remember one of the last time I went there was a Boxing Night and Edwin Starr was gunna be singing. Such a lovely man, always made the efoort to talk to people and instead of getting on the stage to sing, he stood in the middle of the dance floor with everyone around him to do his spot... and my battery was flat when we went outside afterwards...(strange the things you do remember)...
  3. Can we fit in some choir practice... ...me too, ain't been out properly for ever...
  4. Got to agree with Bint of Soul, at least they're making a living but... £99 for a four place setting... I'd buy my own white set (or get it free from a girl who can) and get my own stickers... or maybe not...
  5. Mixing your tools up when working can be very dangerous......only a fool will do it...
  6. Shocked to hear this. At first I thought, there must be another Mandy and Trev as it couldn't be him. How tragic when they've not even been married a year. Thinking of you Mandy... The quality isn't very good but this is the last foto I have of Trev with Mandy.
  7. Never made it before... Like a lot of people, kept thinking...well it's monthly, I'm busy this month, I'll go next month. Sean and Karl you defo both seem to have the passion and the right reasons for taking this on and with the line-up, how could I refuse... Phil Shields and I were both saying last nite, we haven't planned an outing in January yet, looks like we're sorted...
  8. To do the cheapest journey to Brittany weekender, we crossed at Calais, so by the time we got back, we'd driven 1,300 miles... We opted for the shorter, dearer crossing the next year...
  9. Mmmm, how did I know that...
  10. Phil, I've got a recording of your actual record that you put on CD for me but I'm not sure if I can post a clip on hear as it's mp3. So if anyone wants to hear it, they can pm me...

  12. Oooo tingling as I type, I had to play that as soon as I read it...defo one of my fav enders, or a good old sing along if you're at Hellfire or similar session... Noted...no ending spot for Bearsy...
  13. Would love to have a guitar set up for him on the stage at the beginning of the next Rugby... now that is talent I would love to see live... Not bad yourself Paul...

  15. Nought wrong with Virgos Len, we are the most perfect star sign and modest with it...
  16. I've got to ask but being that organised and tidy, are you a Virgo man by any chance... That would be my idea of heaven having ours that organised......Altho I would prefer the CDs on their sides for easy access... I picked up some decks of evil bay and they threw in one of those Deconomix storage units, not bad at all but they are made for 12"s and we are mainly 7" in this house...
  17. Sidney Barnes wrote on his Face Book status early and I thought how much closer to the artists we feel now with this internet thing. Quote... Damn, Solomon Burke just passed away. Seems like that line I'm standing in is really getting shorter. Let me try to keep on moving to the back of the line..RIP Solomon.
  18. Don't you start sunny Jim... Dean showed Pete Robinson (RIP) how to do it and it worked for him but then you can't ask him for proof...
  19. Oh yee of little faith... I have the record that now plays perfectly to prove it works... Good job I'm not intimidated by you men folk...
  20. Well I've been right back to July '08, I didn't realise I could talk that much... I can't find the original member who gave the advise but found the one where I passed it onto someone else. It does work... Wet your thumb with spit and rub the jump til your finger gets warm, rub the same way the needle would go. Then play. If it doesn't work first time, do it again for a couple of times. Makes sure you do it til your thumb gets quite warm.
  21. Callum, re: the skip. I will have to find the old post but I got Dean to do it on a bargain I got from America that had a jump right at the beginning. I didn't wanna do it incase it went wrong...but it worked perfectly. Something along the lines of rubbing it with your thumb in the direction of the grooves until it gets warm and keep repeating til it smooths the skip...
  22. Always best to contact the promoter in advance and ask... Good luck and hope he enjoys himself if you do take him out...
