  1. The flip of the Del-La-Northern copy is "I Need You" as the official B-side. Happy to cross-ref matrix marks with your Ten High mis-press if you like, but guess they will be the same. Cheers Richard
  2. This is a fantastic record and quite hard to pick up A fave play of mine and I'm not surprised that the price on this 45 should go to a few hundred in this day and age - JM's 'pitch' on the auction was also excellent Cheers Richard
  3. Here it is here Mark Mary Johnson - I'm Tired - Boo-Ga-Loo 101 A Cheers Richard
  4. Hi Mark I have this 45 and have posted it up in Refosoul for you. It's a vocal version of 'I'm Tired' by Tom & Jerryo on Sherwood 106 B - which was re-issued with a stuck on paper label as 'Soul Blues' by Mutt & Jeffo on Jerry-O 106 B. Scans of the above 45s below. Cheers Richard
  5. If you don't want to explain Pete then of course you don't have to Then again, you don't have to post up that you think it's dodgy either As this is a discussion site and I think you are the only person saying the record is dodgy I reckon it's perfectly fair to ask you to say why you think that's so If you don't know why you think it's dodgy (e.g. other evidence about when/where pressed, vinyl/paper/deadwax details) then that's another thing completely I guess As this has now become a pointless thread I'm not coming back to it - bye Cheers Richard
  6. Hi Pete This record has been around a long time. See my post from the previous thread. It's perfectly possible that Don Burdick pressed it in '71 as stated above, but that it was never distributed or very effectively distributed - and he just kept hold of some or all of them. This could easily explain it's long-standing 'rarity'. The existence of the 45 going back years (at least to the early to mid 1980s as shown above) is adequately documented. If you think a more recent counterfeit has been pressed, or if you think the old copies are counterfeits in some way, can you say a bit more about why you think this is please? Cheers Richard
  7. Guys - we did this topic only back in February Here is the link: Go to the previous thread as it includes plenty of references to how long the Sound Patterns 45 has been around The only query in my mind now is has the Sound Patterns been re-pressesed recently as an 'exact' copy of the first white with green print Sound Patterns copy? Cheers Richard
  8. Demos of "...world go round" USA Atlantic Dist and Canadian - with Canadian writing Believe these are different issues (not two sides of basically the same 45 - one with and one without the Canadian note) Cheers Richard
  9. No worries Fingers - thanks for looking into it for me On the Sunliners I have the white demo and the yellow issue. Got the demo fairly recently from a Soul Sourcer - about a year ago - £175 I think it was and it's totally stone mint - plays through beautifully like the day it was pressed In relation to Rod's story about smacking one of the Sunliners - anyone else punched a soul artist - and if so why and what happened? Cheers Richard
  10. Hard on a white demo this one Cheers Richard
  11. Shame those Hitsville pages are not available any more. I still had quite a few different format Ric-Tics and Golden Worlds to send in that were not there already. Cheers Richard
  12. When it comes to the Precisions then 'Sugar Ain't Sweet' is their rarest WDJ by far. That said I reckon theose lovely West Coast copies are pretty rare compared with the normal Precisions' items Here is one of mine I also have a WDJ of 'Never Let Her Go'/'A Place' on this West Coast design Cheers Richard
  13. Yes mate - the site is fine Richard
  14. Great record - think this is one where the issue is the rarer one Cheers Richard
  15. Sure Dave - I have quite a few non-Detroit things but they are all records from when I used to collect other stuff. Used to have a decent collection of 60s Northern classics and obscurities. I only buy Detroit and Detroit-related releases now - but have branched out to include funk, R&B and some earlier 70s stuff. On the basis that I couldn't have everything I wanted I just decided to specialise a few years ago now (but still can't have everything I want ) A top DJ said to me a while ago - "Ermm ... Detroit collectors - they used to have those in the 70s" Cheers Richard
  16. DJ copies on Groove City are usually just like the issues but with D.J. Copy printed in silver on the blue/green label. Here's a white DJ copy of Robert Ward I picked up. Anybody know how rare is this please? Has anyone got any other WDJs on Groove City? Cheers Richard
  17. Don't see too many of these around come to think of it Not the rarest WDJ by a long way but a very nice one Cheers Richard
  18. OK - here's a DJ COPY with the yellow stars design label which I picked up recently Anyone ever seen a DJ copy on the other label design without the stars and with the full Hamilton address details? Cheers Richard
  19. Doesn't work for me tonight - keep getting message: Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted. Other radio stations are OK Richard
  20. I have a WDJ of the Fabulous Apollos - The One Alone/Determination (Valtone) that I reckon is a tough one - came from John Anderson (can scan up if anyone's interested). Cheers Richard
  21. This one is pretty rare - KAREN not Moira WDJ currenly my avatar Tim Brown auctioned a copy a couple of months ago Cheers Richard
  22. Here's mine - not as nice nick as Craig's but it will do Didn't Rob Moss have this one as his avatar for a while? Cheers Richard
  23. Yep - me too Cheers Richard
  24. You should play some classic decent Northern - none of that pop-stomper crap that got played, or anything too Motowny - if they are genuinely asking for good quality Northern but haven't really heard any, go into it with confidence and an open mind - and as per the post above, maybe but have some back-up! - but do play records you would play to a Northern crowd Every time I have done tapes/CDs for 'normal' people before and they have been knocked out Some suggestions for what I reckon are good quality Northern tracks that might appeal to non-Northern Soulies. Cheers Richard Billy Butler - Right Track - Okeh Sam Dees - Lonely For You Baby - SSS International Willie Kendrick - Change Your Ways - RCA Victor Billy Prophet - What Can I Do - Sue Metros - Since I Found My Baby - RCA Victor Chuck Wood - Seven Days Too Long - Roulette Jackie Lee - Darkest Days - ABC Johnny Sayles - I Can't Get Enough - St Lawrence World Column - So Is The Sun - Tower Johnny Wyatt - This Thing Called Love - Bronco Bobby Bland - Shoes - Duke Salvadors - Stick With Me Baby - Wise World Linda Jones - My Heart Needs A Break - Loma Willie Tee - Walking Up A One Way Street - Atlantic Ester Phillips - Just Say Goodbye - Atlantic Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Your Heart - Revilot Tony Middleton - Paris Blues - Mala Eddie Parker - I'm Gone - Awake Little Richie - Just Another Heartache - Sound Stage Seven Frank Beverly - If That's What You Wanted - Sassy Jean Wells - With My Love & What You Got - Calla Rita & Tiaras - Gone With The Wind (Is My Love) - Dore Art Freeman - Slippin' Around With You - Fame Lou Pride - I'm Com'un Home In The Mornun - Suemi
  25. Also rarer on the yellow issue compared with the WDJ Cheers Richard
