  1. Brilliant record! Richard
  2. Dean Courtney on RCA is brilliant classy mid-tempo Richard
  3. Just a quick heads-up that I will be guesting again on Dean's show in the coming week - Wednesday 14 August - 7-9pm. This time will be a little different though as the theme is to play only 'cheap as chips' type records What with the state of the nation, the economy, the City of Detroit etc. I thought it would be an interesting challenge to play only the most affordable records - a bit of "austerity soul" So, the plan is to play around 2 hours of records, all Detroit on original vinyl, and all costing 30 quid or less each. This should also be a bit of fun as it will hopefully showcase the superb quality of even the cheapest and more available records - as well as playing some great Detroit soul and club classics on famous labels like Golden World, Ric-Tic, Revilot etc. that really gave Berrry Gordy some tough competition. Cheers Richard
  4. Good on ya - always thought it was a classy record. Richsrd
  5. Oh, that's strange Jim. It's there in both posts as an embedded podomatic player. Hopefully someone will be able to help mate. Richard
  6. Who is playing this one just now please? Richard
  7. Jim It's embedded above and copied below https://infinitisoul.podomatic.com/entry/2013-08-08T11_53_05-07_00 Richard
  8. If you think those two pics show they are definitely two different people what do you make of these pictures of Darrell Banks Looks like 3 different blokes to me Richard
  9. Just requires a polite message saying thanks very much for the positive feedback on shipping. You feel the listing was clear, including the photo showing the writing on the label and that the term WOL is very well-established among the record collecting community. Therefore, you do not feel it is appropriate to offer a partial refund. Maybe you could refer them to a website somewhere with a list of all these terms on like SOL, WOL, TOL (Record Collector?) and say that based on your accurate item description you hope he will be happy to give you 5 star feedback. Thank them for their custom and say you hope you can do business again in the future. I'm in a good mood this afternoon Richard
  10. WOL must mean W@nk*r On Line
  11. If you look at the label "I'm Gonna Make It" is also the official A-side of this disc Richard
  12. I didn't say it was cheap in the first place - all I have said is I think it's a fair price @ £550 and quoted a book price as a comparison. What do you think it's worth then as a near minter Pete on a white demo? Richard
  13. The music you guys play is just ace I don't think there's a single record there that I don't like - plus the way you mix it up is very impressive Cheers Richard
  14. Eddie - Gilly's show is here mate: Cheers Richard
  15. Hi everyone Tonight's TNT Soul Show has a superb double-helping of special guests In the studio with Dean will be Colin Law (Scottish "True Soul Weekender") and Kitch !! Live tonight at 7-9pm. Should be a fantastic show. Tulip Radio is online here: https://www.tulip-radio.co.uk/ Looking forward to a great show. Next week 14 August Dean's guest in the studio will be me again. This time I will be playing 2 hours of "austerity soul" - great but cheap records from Detroit - nothing over 30 quid - you can't beat that for value! Cheers Richard
  16. Yes, a fair price. Demo books in Manship's at 600 as a reference point. Richard
  17. OK folks - sorry for the delay The show is posted here: Cheers Richard
  18. Sorry for the delay in posting this up folks. Here's the recording of Gilly guesting on Dean Anderson's TNT Soul Show on 31 July 2013 - playing a superb selection of rare soul. Thank you also to Aid (MrsWoodsRules) for recording the show. If I can get a track listing from Gilly I will add it to the Mixcloud post. Enjoy! Cheers Richard https://www.mixcloud.com/PremiumStuff/gilly-on-dean-andersons-tnt-soul-show-310713/
  19. So I knew the instrumental was familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then, last night I was reading an old fanzine and all the info was there. Rod Dearlove's Midnite Express - what a fabulous mag that was - issue #4 from 1983 had a write up of this record. He had just picked up a copy from Soul Bowl at £6.00. It then says ... "The flip is pretty weird, it's an exact copy of "It May Be Winter Outside", in fact it's the same backing track, the instrumental flip to Felice Taylor on Mustang." Well here it is on the Mustang copy called "Winter Again". Does this help shed any more light on things? Cheers Richard
  20. Yes, agreed a hard record these days especially in decent 'collectors' condition. Love the flip side too - "I'm Gonna Make It" - does that ever get played out? Cheers Richard
  21. Had a look there mate but no Mylar 45 sleeves Cheers Richard
  22. Steve - go to the website and you can listen again. Was a great show Richard
  23. Thanks for confirming Robb - I take it that was #1020 (and not #1024)? Cheers Richard
