  1. Here's one of the boots/re-issues with the instrumental on the flip. If anyone else has any info on the provenance of these it would be interesting to know. https://www.popsike.com/JACKIE-DAYARTHUR-WRIGHTbefore-its-too-lateinstroNORTHERN-MODmirwoodLISTEN/230865453946.html
  2. I'm not suggesting that this is anyway misleading or anything but legit, just another example of what re-issues of classic tunes are fetching these days: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371282759505?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  3. Cheeky, how much more blatant can they get? Boot Records - ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MVP-039-s-Turning-My-Heartbeat-Up-Mr-Dynamite-Sh-039-mon-Northern-Soul-Vinyl-45-Listen-/151614973698?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
  4. Very informative, thanks for making the effort to share with us.
  5. Certainly do, from Woollies Hanley, still have Edwin-00 Soul,Fantastic Four, Peggy Scott & Jo Jo Benson & Inex & Charlie Foxx to this day.
  6. Of course morally you are absolutely right, however I think that Ebay's policy outlaws the selling of "bootlegs" hence most describe them as re-issues. Sadly apart from stating it in their terms, they continue to ignore the trade in contemporary boots. This may sound naive, but in the 70's I just wasn't clued up enough to know that many of the look a like boots were boots. I hold no guilt for, over the past few years, selling on the tunes that I mainly bought in good faith from the Casino record bar, Mike Lloyd in Hanley and Selectadisc. I described them as re-issues and yes felt guilty about it. Sadly none reached the heights of any that we've seen on this forum. The only "pressing" that I ever bought knowingly was the "Soul Sounds" issue of Baby Reconsider. "Pressing" was the term we used for them at the time, though I think that we all knew these were boots
  7. Ha,Ha - I did have a good sale, the other week, an original bought for £20, sold for £576 but that's a one off. The new camera's on order!.
  8. I know how you feel !
  9. Here's another: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191517136341?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Seller makes it plain that its a re-issue (boot). Why when you can get the UK Cream release for a tenner? I honestly don't know where I go wrong with my sales.
  10. Ending to-day with some New additions including Jacqueline Jones on Loadstone.

  12. Rod you and me must be the only ones to remember them playing that clip. Was a very long time ago, possibly 40 years. That's five questions I've answered on University Challenge, doesn't make me a Professor of Soul though, sadly! Best Mick

  16. Managed to pick up a Stateside copy cheap recently, after waiting for years for one at the right price. Inez and Charlie Foxx - No Stranger To Love - Stateside
  17. Chris Calloway “You're Something Else” Cub records
  18. Bids on this, which used to be another cheapo tune, seem to have taken off over recent months. There again it is a proper Northern record, without exposure. I bought mine from the King Bee sales boxes for a quid, some years ago. Often a source of bargains in the past, i just wished I bought that UK demo of "cuz it's you girl" for twenty quid at the same time, ahh well. Chris Calloway “You're Something Else” Cub records

  22. Another funky oldie, underplayed due to the sucess of the top side: P P Arnold "Speak to Me" U.K. Immediate 1967
  23. After years of no problems at all, the same thing's happened to both me and the wife, following recent windows up dates. Fortunately we've got plenty of back ups, though there's always something you haven't got around to. I have tried recovery programmes, but they can take days to process the missing info. They tend to find everything, even the stuff that you've deliberatley deleted. Good luck with the recovery op.
