  2. ..they all do-Falsetto is the style I love-Eddie Ks.-'Walk with the Rain', The Van Dykes 'Save my love..', The Contours 'Suspicion', etc, the Continental Four's ''what you gave up' (backing),........etc.......
  3. ..Charlie Rich-'Love is after me'....... ..Ray Charles did a Country Album... It could be said that 'Country' is a kind of 'white'Soul.....
  4. ..and many original 60s Tracks were not that different to the 'Pop Soul', and, in quite a few cases, sung by the same artists, they just got lost in the Commercial Music World of the 60s(so much material)-the same happens today-look at some of the work on 'Soul Patrol'-I doubt if many of the artists featured on there would get played in 'nightclubs all over the country' would the kids be alarmed? not all 45 Yr-olds are 'Fat Geezers', thanks-and some of us are fast, not FAT, movers!!.... ..........and may even have danced to Soulful House-(TMG;the house of the 60s??) ...and finally, would, of course, have been at the 'Wheel, aged 8!!!!!! Within the 'faithful', we all have different tastes; that diversity is what keeps this scene alive...
  5. ..not bad......for those of us with wide-ranging tastes...

  10. good philosophical question....I was listening to LJ Johnson's (Levine) track last night-the thing that makes that track, for me, is Johnson's voice-the backing is just that, the backing...Byron Stingily, IMHO, has a brilliant voice-the backing is contemporary.. ....perhaps we should be asking IF they have enough 'SOUL'????? ......Angie Stone-Wish I did'nt Miss You.........?????

  12. All these experiences put people off this trade; two positive experiences: Dusty Groove America; they always use Cardboard Record Mailers, and Polystyrene, inside, to protect the goods. Parker Records and Comics; Brilliant man-I ordered a load of 45s from him-came well packed as above... ..Is there any way we can 'mark up' the bodgers, so no-one else has the experiences detailed in this topic?

  21. Attached File(s) iceomaticA.mp3 ( 1.46mb ) Number of downloads: 48 .......hmm, is this an early attempt at the Chill-Out genre???? ..or early 'Kool and the Gang', without the bass........or the rythm, for that matter???????? ...oooh, I get it, the seller pays the buyer $900, to TAKE THE RECORD AWAY
