  1. Sometimes it's only when they are in demand that they surface. For example I was after a copy of Ronnie McCain a few years back, I'd miss it on the odd list at 20-30quid then it started getting spins and I'd see it for sale all the time for around 80/100. I was lucky a guy on this board sold me one cheap saying the prices being asked were crazy. How ever I have to say my orginal posts a year or so before asking for a copy on here went unnoticed. Living in Australia I don't give a tinkers cuss about whats in demand on the other side of the world, when stuff does go up in price due to plays I wait it out and if it's something I didn't know before I do the same hoping the price will go down. But if you want it NOW and can afford it, you buy. Like every collector I have 100's of records that have gone up in price since I bought them and 100's that have gone down. Swings and round-a-bouts. Right then... anybody got a copy of the Soul For Sale 45. I need it!
  2. I've never liked the idea of having my 45's in boxes. God forbid anyone wanted to steal them, I'm not giving them the boxes to carry them away in. So I have wooden racks, I need some more made though as I have about 400 45's now resting against them....
  3. James I've heard of this before from a few people, paypal will freeze an account if a surge of money goes in or out. I'd be doing bank transfers/money orders as it will take ages to sort out. They really are pricks! Those that have paypal'd, it would be easier to get them to withdraw the payment and send another way.
  4. Wild Honey is a great 45, I would have thought people were on to this by now. Not an easy find either, I'd been looking a while before I found a copy... on here as it happens.
  5. My copy on PM plays just fine. Then there is the later version
  6. for me it's Sheryl Swope's One moment "I'd give up a life time of husband and wife time"
  7. I love that part! The iffy bit is the verse where he talks about needing "straight love now and then" and goes on to sing about cheating. Never will I make my baby cry.... my arse
  8. Another great cut from the Melbourne outifit
  9. Another great cut from the Melbourne outifit
  10. Indeed some great info on this thread. Anothing interesting fact is that in the NY area (if I remember correctly) rather than drill a hole in dead stock a dab of gold paint was used. I'm sure everyone has a 45 with gold paint on it. I'd always thought the records I had with this had come from the one collection until told otherwise.
  11. Jed, it's my understanding he was the 2nd lead vocalist for the Soul Ace's and sung on it... I agree the vocal style is very different. I don't own the record (but would love too) indeed I've never heard the flip which it's mostly sort after for. Sorry for hijacking your wants thread Mark
  12. He's also the singer on the stellar tune You're different by The Soul Aces

  15. This one should be called So very hard to find... Great 45, after years of playing this it's beauty has never diminished for me. I put it up there with Guitar Ray. It was repressed on a 12" by Jazzman if you need a stop gap before you find a copy.
  16. I really like the backing track but the vocal is a bit folksie for me. Thanks for posting it up though.
  17. Jesse, do you have a sound clip you could put up.

  21. It amazes me to think people don't flip there 45's as a matter of cause when they get them. I mean, would you buy an LP and only play the track you know?
