  1. It was a Rita and Benny Isen owned label, hence R&B. They licensed it directly from Joe Evans and were mainly ska/reggae and definitely aiming it at their clientelle. Ady
  2. He certainly did Dave, but like you i can't remember what the hell they were. i can't even remember how he stopped DJing (presumably) and started again as a newies DJ. No doubt he pestered the hell out of me and had built up a good following so I booked him, I was always sympathetic to the newies theory even though i didn't like it 100% in practice. It's probably one of the reasons I brough in 45 and 30 mins spots so the crowd didn't have to suffer a solid hour of any DJs whose tastes might not have been everyone's cuppa.
  3. Mike Cotton defo copied the Beau Dollar arrangement on Prime (subsid of Fraternity) version, note for note.
  4. Tell 'em they can use our label scan on YouTube!
  5. It was a teaser to help in the financing
  6. https://m.screendaily.com/5041903.article Steve Coogan is now gonna be in the film; looking good!
  7. Hi John, I've been looking for Vistones the last couple of years and not found too many. If you grab one or if you already know it, please let me know if it has a Dave Polk credit anywhere. Ta Ady
  8. All up on Ebay under horacesrecords https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/horacesrecords/m.html?hash=item20c5625f17&item=140750511895&pt=UK_Records&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562 Ady
  9. Not got it sorry, but there's an alternate version, same backing track by the Phillips Sisters out on a Kent Select 45 in a couple of months. It's on the Kent Harris R&B Story Ace CD out last month and is authentic, cut at the time and sounds very good.
  10. Thanks, that was easier. Not a bad side, just need a few bob now to get it!
  11. I couldn't find it; I'm talking about the You're Too Good side. Itunes doesn't seem to have a search engine!
  12. You're Too Good is the flip. Can anyone direct me to a listening source for this please? Ady
  13. Randy just loved the slow records with a bit of a beat like Arthur Alexander 'I Need You Baby' and Big Dee Irwin 'You Satisfy My Needs' he had his own term for them that he used in his Black Beat column "Smooth E> Groovers" it never caught on lol.
  14. Not too likely Mark, but I'll see what's possible. William's already bringing over his manager.
  15. Trying To Love Two is definitely under consideration. I didn't realise I'd got prejudices in this area of my work, I always try to get the best set for the Cleethorpes crowd irregardless of what label the records came out on.
  16. Yep, we've finally nailed our man. The epitome of a 60s and 70s male soul singer and a mainstay of the mighty Stax records outta Memphis for so many years. He'll be wowing the crowd with a full band with three horns and two female backing vocalists and will perform a great cross section of his stompers, crossover, club soul and magnificent ballads; a show to relish. 'Happy', I Forgot To Be Your Lover', 'The Man In The Streets', 'Never Like This Before', 'Private Number', 'Born Under A Bad Sign', 'You Don't Miss Your Water', 'My baby Specialises' and more; stunning stuff! I'll be sending a proper mail out with flyers and more details next week. We do have plenty of weekend dance passes left at £59 each by cheque to 6TS Weekenders 8 Buttercup Walk Desborough Northants NN14 2RT or £61 PayPal (to cover their charges) to this PayPal address If you're currently skint or a cautious Yorkie like mi sen, send £20 deposits or £20.75 PayPal balance due 1st June We don't have any accomodation left on site but there's plenty next door at Thorpe Park a walk away. 17. They were defo played before but i don't remember them being termed that until I heard guy playing Tommy Navarro at Stafford and that turned me on to playing them.
  18. I've just not been paying attention as usual.
  19. Did you speed up the Vicki Styles at all Warren, it sounds better over a system. This is a low quality link though.
  20. Help! Get in the attic, you might find an old Frank Wilson too!
  21. So which was the female vocal of alternate words to Open The Door To Your Heart? That got people talking, great sound. And the rest were spot on too. Ady
  22. They got delayed, hopefully Aug and Oct releases. Ady
