  1. HI LITTLE RICHARD "I DON'T WANT TO DISCUSSIT" UK COLUMBIA US OKeh, DAVE GODIN RIP was bemused that EMI put this great record as the B side, .....The first copy I had was of a JOY LP, Then I got a small 45 from CARLOWS, BEDFORD, A UK copy is the only way to own this one, mine is a G&W DEMO, RJM would give the best description me think? What I was told about the small 45 OKeh, that they pressed by COLUMBIA SPECIAL PRODUCTS, that sounds right to me? DAVE K
  2. This is the way a good thread works! makes you feel good, I hope you get it, my mate DAVE K
  3. HI...IF ANYONE HADS A CLUE ABOUT THIS SUBJECT, PETE WAS THE MAN! As I told you. as although I mention the same people? Pete was always gonna put meat on a bone, Also as I have said before, SIMONS SHARONETTES PAPA-OO MOW MOW, was a massive floor packer, although most won;t admit it, but both sold by the cart load, the big one was "goodbye" NOSMO KING, A brill cover up that fooled us all...yes it did (not SS though) DAVE K
  4. HI ALL In part I agree with your piont, however as we all are aware most collections are not filled with £100+ rare soul 45s and some of the lower priced records become big bucks? also it would put many people of if they were trying to value their collection if many records were not in the price guide???

  6. HI ALL Every body loves inst back in the early 70's, Mike Post did a few good TV THEMES, IAN remembers right about hearing it at STAFFORD, AS ?I CAN BARE WHITNES, The 2 years 72 to 74 saw many obscurer records lifted from LP's, The "tears of a clown" & "Band of gold" inst, we talked about, also SIMONS inst efforts, remember at the time, "there's a ghost in my house" "tell me it's just a rumor baby" & "baby hit & run" sounded perfect back then and still do as does "under my thumb" Wayne Gibson, a magic period lovin it now DAVE

DAVE K
  9. HI ALL. There was a very good article on OUTLOOK on the BBC World Service this morning 3am GMT, clips of all Northern Hits, History of group with focus on a new film about the group, and the racism they face being native Australians, well worth a listen, Does the WORLD SERVICE do repeats or whatever they call it????/ RECOMMEND to all DAVE K

  12. HI ALL, Thanks for the feedback Steve, the MAJOR LANCE, did you see him at STOKE? in 72, i had to wait to the end of the year, to see the Legend he was, as I have been play sounds through the night 11 to 4, I could not be bothered to change it, The contempo is the best version, in fact these days I wouldn't bother picking up the OKeh 45, how times change? I had a PM stating that the value is much higher & the issue is £45, does it matter? on E BAY last week several contempo releases went for a few ££ including the SEEDS OF THE EARTH, PLANTING SEEDS, IAN CLARK use to sell ACROSS THE TRAX FOR £200, What I would say is try and collect the lot, some are very hard to find, 12" sell very well, if you can find one? the best OKeh MAJOR Lances his 1st DELILAH, unless you no better?? HI ALL Before I start the best lender is in my pants! but for those who have seen my 1974 soft porn film "a girl on you hand, is better than 2 in a taxi" or "take 3 girls" only a bit part? I digress.... BIG NEWSFLASH!!!! Tonight at 10.30 I received 2 packages from 2 of the most knowledgeable record collectors in the UK, In package (a) there was / is the best new record of the year, it really is sublime, and would win you vote as the best end-er I'm sure, HOWEVER until I have spoken to the sender to ask his permission to play it, you will have to wait 48 hours, sorry but it will be worth it? DAVE K
  21. HI ALL JUST HAD TO DIG IT OUT & PLAY "BABY JANE"! a great 2 sided very collectible on RED ATLANTIC, "turn back the hands of time, all versions of this song are made unique by the artist OTIS CLAY, VERNON GARRET BOBBY ADENO, & so on, if you are fortunate to own Jimmy & David Ruffins TAMLA MOTOWN LP - I'M NOT MY BROTHERS KEEPER!" how apt, and you here the #1 version of the song, shame there is no 34 of it?? DAVE K
  22. HI AND BEFORE I PUT UP TONIGHTS POST, THE STANDARD OF THE SELECTED 45's is just OUTSTANDING. Shame he is a septic? (I suppose they gave us their Ivy League look shrink to fit jeans R&B SOUL& BLUES THE MODS LOVE THIS TUNE BACK THEN & TODAYS MERCMEN & METCETTES, SO NEAT. I must state that the cut is from the US 45the UK 45 has the edge, as I say this 45 is the one you spin to impress your spot is the best? RIVERSIDE 106908 RIF - MARK MURPHY - "WHY DON'T YOU DO RIGHT, (get me some money to!) - year 1962,Rated*****, Value £100, for the UK 45, US?? So why don't you do right! and enjoy this superb 45, DAVE K https://youtu.be/vWspLVCtu0Q
  23. HI ALL...This is a real fave of mine, to-days value?? how much do you think? it comes from the hat day of the NORTHEN SCENE massive record at Peterborough/St Ives also at WIGAN, not 100% but I think this was a BEDFORD find that was played at the Howard Mallet then at EASC All-nighters then at Wigan, To have a copy in the 7T's was hard enough as this superb record could only be obtained by going out and about to every junk shop that you could find. The record is sort after by UK & US SOUL COLECTORS as it had no US release, The BOOTLEGS are as Pete described, all the BOOTS did was to make the record even more harder to find, although it was not played for awhile in 84 it was revived and up went the price, My copy is VG+ Paid £20 at the 100 CLUB on a rare visit! alTHOUGH NOT FOR SALE it's value is £200+ a mint copy I would expect to go for £350+ I am sure someone will disagree with me? Is it a SOUL RECORD.??....maybe not but it is a CLASSIC MORTHERN SOUL RECORD!..OH YES!! DAVE K RATED *****
  24. HI Yes it's mid 6Ts Pink DECCA DEMO. ISSUE MID 6Ts DECCA BLACK with coloured bands, thick large lettering, great record that I ain't got no more?? DAVE FORGET THAT NONSEANCE RUBBISH, WHITE KAPP DEMO RED A, I WAS THINKING! BETTER PUT MY HEAD INTO GEAR!!!
  25. HI ALL....Not sure if this early sound from Kingston JA, Hortence Ellis had such a good voice for a femal Jamaican? true, most women of the Treasure Isle screech their songs, JACKIE & HIS GIRLS? more like JACKIE & ALLY CATS! However the proud parents of Alton & Hortence Ellis, as the become Top Jamacain artists, Hortence did a few very good soul cavers reggae style, But it's this obscure 1963 45 on R&B DISCS London, that the soul scene wants to hear, all be it 50 years on' in fact whatever your taste, never leave any record on R&B LABEL, as their are many collectors who pay well for missing #, Goergie Fame is a classic, and Jimmy James do you want to jump children 5 stars, R&B RECORDS - HORTENCE ELLIS - i'll come softly - RATED ***** VALUE? Copy in scan cost £4.05 2 weeks ago that included P&P from Canada, also look out for Jimmy James song on WIRL as this is the reply to his great tune, Please enjoy? :thumbsup:DAVE https://youtu.be/SWUsKvCEMMs
