:hatsoff2:HI MATE. VERY NICE MADE ME LOOK TWICE, AS IT LOOKS LIKE THE VERY RARE UK COPY, THAT I GOT AT THE MASSIVE LEEDS ALLNIGHTER IN 74, (NPC), THE FACT YOUR COPY HAS NOC, DOES NOT AFFECT THE PRICE TO MUCH, ALTHOUGH IT.S ALAUS NICE TO HAVE A RECORD COMPLETE, BUT I TAKE THEM AS THEY COME, AND £8 IS A VERY GOOD DEAL, AS FOR THE COPY I GOT IN LEEDS, AS FAR AS I AM AWARE THE UK DEALER I SOLD IT TO HAS STILL GOT IT, IT WAS IN A POOR STATE BACK THEN, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER OR KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS??/:D DAVE

Value Please "the Night"
Hi All ..Mick Holsworth had 1 copy in hiis box at the TORCH 10 DOO, last Saturday for £60, I normally trade any copys to Mick Smith, iI think he sells the for £25 + in mint condition, HE IS AT WOLVERHAMPTON RECORD FAIR THIS SATURDAY. In my humble opinion this record is much under valued, the only people that I remember stocking it before the reissue was SELECTOR DISC Leicester & Carlows in Bedford, and if they sold a box full it would amaze me,(25 in a box)? I have 2 spares and 1 reissue Demo, if you want to trade:ph34r: DAVE

Another Frank Beverly On E-Bay
Hi TED....As you know, I have collected SOUL records for over 40 years now, in that time there have been many trends in what constitutes as a RARE collection, and of coarse we all know how fickle prices of rare soul fluctuates year in year out, it seems to me, that the rare UK product still cant bust through the £1K position (I am aware of 2 or 4 have), But it is the USA Originals that have me going every time! for example in the 8ts I used to sell a few records like "thats whiskey talking" on TARX, Gil Blanding "rules" Sam Dee's SSS int, & the Ringleaders (remember) for around £10, This is my question WHY is the Frankie Beverly classed as rarer than his "she kissed me" F-1012A which come out a couple of months before? I am of coarse aware that "because my heart" is the best of the 2, but rarer when it came out twice? I don't get it, taking this on board both records are great and hard to get, and as I and others have noticed that (because) has been advertised a few times this year, "she kissed me has not? I still cant see the why theres a big jump in price, it's not because it's rarer, and surely people who use this site are not gelable,? are they. Could you do a piece on just why over the last 20 years there has been such a dramatic juxtaposition with rare soul, PLEASE:ph34r: DAVE

THIS RECORD IS CLASS REGGAE THAT YOU ALL MIGHT HAVE (OR SHOULD HAVE) THE DIP LABEL IS A COMPLETEST LABEL AS THERE ARE MANY CLASSICS FROM THE MID 7ts, THE OFFICIAL A SIDE DL 5061, IS A SIMPLE STEADY ROCK RHYTHM WITH QUITE SUPERB VOCALS "LOVING GIRL" CARL BERT'S (NOT HIS PROPER NAME) VOCAL IS AS GOOD AS PAT KELLY SWEET & SMOOTH GOOD TO WELD TO! YES SIR. THE B SIDE IS DtheDRUGS RECORD OF THE WEEK, AND COULD BECOME IN DEMAND WITH THE IN CROWD, It's A MID TEMPO GROUP HARMONY BEAT BALLARD, IT IS QUITE POSSIBLE THAT THIS TUNE HAS NOT BEEN REVIVED YET! Blue Beat Question
Hi All I had white copy with BLUEBEAT IN BLUE,of Busters Independence Switching and there was a Derick Morgan can't remember title, but like the BUSTER record they were very low numbers, there are 3 different AL CAPONE'S from the mid-6ts traditional BLUEBEAT, MY 1ST COPY, was blue label small writing purchased new in august 67 & a similar copy on a white label with Blue writing Very Rare, many White label FAB blanks, some have different B sides than the issue All aspects of collecting 6ts Jamaican Records on UK labels has always been a challenge, I used to have a blank that I purchase from Brixton Market with Midnight written on it it was or followed the Desmond Decker "Rude Boy Gone To Jail" never been able to locate it, and no it's not the Jackpot recording, the real answer to full story belongs with the original SOUND MEN. But the work has been left to younger collectors, can you imagine collecting HIP HOP the myriad versions that have been cut, thats the problem with all dance sounds they were made to be current and disposable? still KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADS:ph34r: DAVE

Keele Back with a good one - T
:hatsoff2:HI KEITH...That sadley was the last one, as the numbers dropped, and the hire cost rose, the profit margin did not exist, I know Keith Minshal & Mick Smith lost money for last few months. and indeed paid the DJs out of their own money, Keith even got the young lad DJing. KEELE was the last AllNighter I went to. I used to enjoy selling Micks records, even the record sales were slow. I dont think we will see it back and it's Hayday as the OKeh Soul Club was on par with the Casino..I realy Miss KEELE:ph34r: DAVE KIL
