  1. Yes, right now it seems like that. Apart from yesterdays $358 copy, it's in steady decline precewise. Here are the 3 latest copies on eBay: 2008-07-24 - $358.66 2008-07-18 - $202.50 2008-07-12 - $214.50

Wow! Didn't know that. I like their "I've Been Crying".
  3. The US RCA 7" is 3:27. The US RCA LP version is 3:59.
  4. Accoding to the seller of the test-pressing it has got: "PA/PB-11403 in the runoff" My RCA vinyl issue copy has got PB-11403A and PB-11403B in the run-out grooves, so it's most likely a test-pressing for the RCA release. A very nice item in any case!
  5. The value for the testpressing is $105.02. It sold earlier today on eBay: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=250271397463
  6. Fantastic tune. It's a previously unissued track which was only included on the late 80s (or maybe even 90s) reissues of "New Orleans". Not really worth anything as far as i know, as it still can be bought from oldies45s/jukebox supplier shops on the net for $5-$20-ish.

Usually goes for £20-£30. Here's a recent eBay copy: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=140246745843

    Scepter.
  9. Isn't it just the promo copies that are mis-spelled?
  10. Most copies were sold out before it was hyped or even mentioned on SoulSource. A link to the bands MySpace page was posted on the funk forum and the people who pre-ordered the 45 did so because they thought it was a good record or because they thought they could re-sell some copies at profit. Almost all records thorughout the history of recorded music are imitations or influenced of what has gone down before. The vast majority of ALL soul/r&b records ever released are (often unimaginative) ways of re-hashing a formula. That goes for almost all records played under the "northern soul" banner, or any other banner for that matter. That doesn't make those records bad or not worthy of our attention though. It's just the way it works. Kings Go Forth's "One Day" is a truly monumental tune in my opinion. I don't see what that has got to do with me liking authentic 60s/70s soul though. Can't I like and play both? It's not like there's all of a sudden a lack of good 60s/70s/80s soul in my record collection or DJ box just because I put the Kings Go Forth 45 in there.
  11. Click on "LISTEN" below to hear the 4 remaining 45s. Midnight Express - Danger Zone / Dial Love (Tri-Fire) 150 Reduced to 125!! Highly recommended! LISTEN Lady - Whatever happened to the love (M-L) 120 Reduced to 100! I need to sell! LISTEN Tapestry - Life is what you make it (Capitol) wol 8 LISTEN Sun - Give your love to me (Capitol) 12 LISTEN
  12. Do you mean "Show Me What You Got"? That's a great gritty tune, and one of my favourites by him along with "Share It" (Brunswick), "Black Bottom Blues" (Columbia), "Down In the Basement" (Togo) and "Crazy Feeling" (Togo). That Big Apple 45 surely must be his rarest 45 (and on dark red vinyl! ). I'm actually quite fond of his novelty cuts like "The Boo Boo Song", "Salt And Pepper" and "Do The Booga Lou" as well. Great artist! "Hang It Up" was also recorded by Bobby Byrd on Brownstone, and "Salt And Pepper" has got the same backing track as the "Deep Down Inside" (by "unknown male") tune which was included on Kent's "Arock & Sylvia Story" CD.
  13. I've made a 30-minute MP3 mix of the tunes in the list I posted last week. 14. I agree and nice to hear that you got an original!
  15. Only about 2-3 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking!
  16. "Been This Way Before" is a truly amazing tune. One of the best "free soul" type of tracks I have ever heard. Hard to find 45 as well!
  17. Not the best track ever, or even remotely northern... but The Supremes version of "Only Sixteen" was issued TWICE in Denmark with different catalogue numbers and different sleeves! Never issued as a 7" in the UK or US as far as I know.
  18. Same here, Dave, just going from my own experience and with me being stuck here in Sweden I obviously don't go out and about at venues etc in the UK. But I can't say that I've seen any masses of original copies for sale during the past couple of years. The only recent copy on eBay which claimed to be an original (it's on Popsike, sold for $671) used the label scan of a bootleg (in fact, it was the scan I made of MY old bootleg copy), so I'm personally not convinced that it was the first issue that actually was sold. I sold my bootleg copy for $339 on eBay. Now after having had both an original and a bootleg through my hands I must say that it's very easy to see if it's an original or not. There doesn't have to be any confusion whether how to determine an original from a bootleg. ORIGINAL A-side matrix: Superdisc TBS-1001-A B-side matrix: Superdisc TBS-1001-B BOOTLEG A-side matrix: TBS 1001 A - 196 SUPERDISC B-side matrix: TBS 1001 B 95 Superdisc "Lower case" matrix-lettering on both sides = ORIGINAL "Lower case" on one side and "upper case" on the other = BOOTLEG
  19. No, the originals are much, much rarer than the bootlegs. Most people seems to think that their bootleg copies are originals though.
