GREAT DUO and pretty much all of their release are worth picking up. I like all tracks already mentioned but also check out "Gotta Put Something In" and "Love's In Command", superb modern soul dancers both of them.

As with many other major label 45s, the Art Freeman 45 was pressed at many different pressing plants around the US at the same time for different regional markets (instead of pressing all 45s at one plant and then shipping them out to all parts of the US). There are many variations of original Art Freeman 45s out there.

Just pulled out "Sitting In The Park" and gave it a spin for the first time in years. Superb tune!

Which Atac copy have you got? ATAC 102 or ATAC 7823? I just want to rule out whether one of the Atac releases has got better sound quality than the other. I see above that the ATAC 7823 label states the timing as 2:02 while the Mala copy states 2:32.

I remember reading that the sound quality on Mala copies is better than on Atac copies. Is this true? And if it is true, is it true for BOTH Atac releases?

I just pulled out my "Dancin' With Melba" LP and it indeed looks like her in the Voices Incorporated photo.

Neither the LP or the 45 mentions Melba Montgomery, Melba Moore or Melba Hill. That doesn't mean that it still can't be Melba Moore ofcourse. I don't know. See below.

Someone named Melba Smith is credited on the LP as singing "Thinkin'". Isn't Melba Moore's real name Melba Hill? Or am I confusing things? Garrett Saunders is also credited on the LP as being in the group. Same guy as on "A Day Or Two" on Serock perhaps?

This record seems to have been a fairly steady £300 (with the odd eBay one going for $800-$900-ish) ever since it was uncovered in 2002/2003 or so. I sold one copy in December 2003 for £270 and one copy in April 2004 for £300 if that's of any help to you.

I opened a thread about this about 6 months ago when I found a copy of the 45 because I never even knew that it existed (have always been told that it's LP/12"-only). I didn't find out much though and only managed to got ridiculed by a forum member who thought the 7" version was "ridiculous" because it wasn't as long as the 12"/LP version... Oh well! In my experience, the 7" of this is VERY elusive and I've only seen one copy for sale ever.

Following the huge success of the Elvis vs JXL remix of "A Little Less Conversation", Paul Oakenfold did a remix of "Rubberneckin'" a while ago. The promo video for it was all over the music channels.

Type some extreme amount (500 or so) into the box where you fill in how many copies you want to buy, hit "place order", and then on the next page it will read something along the lines of "we're sorry, we only have 10 copies available of this record".

Craig Moerer has got 10 M- copies at $20 each.

I've always thought this was the case as well, but I guess this might have been "edited out" from the history of Motown. It sure would make sense with that Freeman Brothers 45 appearing on a Motown label for instance.
