Soulful House
I honestly haven't been listening to much soulful house during the past couple of years, but I do love it when it's good. Here are some tunes I used to go apeshit over. All of them a couple of years old and most of them my own shorter edits/re-edits... or "single mixes" if you'd like... Here we go:
-
Various 70s/crossover/modern/disco
Everything You Touch (Turns To Love) - willie rogers - amg 14093 refosoul Bloody good tune, and at £60 very decently priced as well.
-
Lps On Ebay - Alice Clark, Elgins, Garland Green, Ramp
About 5-6 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking!

Rarer Issues & Demo's
Not really an issue/demo kind of thing... but here you have Pic & Bill's rare "Talk About Love" 45 on Charay on the left and then its ultra rare original release as The Fiery Spartans (vocal by: PIC & BILL) on the right.

What Do You Think Of This?
I like it a lot and wouldn't mind a copy if anyone's selling. This was a big spin for someone at The Dome back in the early 2000s covered up as "Dean And Damonts - There's A New Thing". I seem to remember that it was uncovered at some point but can't for the life of me remember what the real artist was... Anyone else? Had kind of forgotten about this tune. Nice one. Thanks for reminding me!

Is Is Possible For Non-soul Records To Be Soulful ?
The Band! What a band!!! Love them! "It Makes No Difference" drips with soul. As does most of their stuff.

Is Is Possible For Non-soul Records To Be Soulful ?
I Would Be In Love (Anyway) - frank sinatra - reprise 13945 refosoul This has me weeping everytime I hear it. Emotional and soulful in the extreme. In my opinion, ofcourse. More than 50% of my records are "non-soul" and I get the same kind of satifaction from most of it as I get from soul music.

Pad, American ( Reissue) Record Label
Joel Diamond: Band Of Oz also recorded a pale version of it. Here's a short clip: https://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&a...:6dxsa9wgl2gd~T

Melba Moore
Bobby Fuller Four's version on Mustang is in my opinion equally good although with a different aproach to it. A real massive "wall of sound" kind of production which stomps along nicely. T hink I have a spare copy of the Mustang 45 here somewhere if anyone needs a copy.

Played And Forgotten Modern Soul
Chase Your Blues Away - funkhouse express - roxbury 13907 refosoul Stomp stomp stomp!

Played And Forgotten Modern Soul
Had kind of forgotten about that Solid Gold Revue tune! Thanks for reminding me. Anyone got a copy for sale?

New World We're Gonna Make It Polydor 45
Demand probably will grow, but there are only oh so many people that can splash $1600 on a 45, so if more copies turns up (and they seem to do) the price will come down. It's always a good thing when major label 45s that are considered rare turns up on eBay and goes for a stack load of money because more often than not, the high end result smokes out more copies (perhaps due to some owners just not being able to hold on to a 45 if the going rate is THAT high, but also because 45s that people outside the soul collecting scene might never have considered to list now starts to appear). It'll be interesting to see what the two current copies on eBay will end at.

Billy Bland "doing The Mule" And Gene & Eunice "soul Loving"
Soul Loving - gene & eunice - cenco 13900 refosoul Don't miss out on that Gene & Eunice 45. Superb pounding stomper and seems to still be unknown to a lot of people.

What an absolute MONSTER of a tune! Their "Be Prepared" 45 on Castle is also superb.

New World We're Gonna Make It Polydor 45
About 343 of the 350 people who went absolutely berzerk when the intro came out of the speakers two weeks ago at a soul club here in my hometown had no idea about how much this record is selling for. It's a good dance tune and sounds great out loud. Reminds me a bit about a weaker "Move On Up" (mostly due to the slightly off-beat singing), but that's a hard tune to top. I like it. Wouldn't pay going rate for a copy though...

Gospel Soul Sounds
If You Believe Your God Is Dead (Try Mine) - swan silvertones - hob is gospel 13850 refosoul I know that a lot of people have problems with lyrics mentioning "god", but give this one a try! It's an absolutely devastating piece of uptempo soul music.

Gospel Soul Sounds
Lend Me A Hand - kindly shepherds - checker 13822 refosoul I'm a big fan of the Checker 5000-series gospel sound and here is one of my favourites.

Records Pressed With Wrong Title Etc
These two from March 1965 were two of them: SOUL 35010 - Hit Pack - Never Say No To Your Baby / Let's Dance SOUL 35011 - Freeman Brothers - My Baby / Beautiful Brown Eyes Seems too much of a coincidence to me that The Freeman Brothers also released a 45 on Mala at about the same time... what was the deal there? Does anyone have the Vol. 5 of the "Complete Motown Singles" box-set and can check out what the booklet says?
