  1. Here are the label images from Discogs for reference.
  2. And further on that Arctic connection, here he's doing Temptones "Girl I Love You" together with Fitz & The Tantrums:
  3. No need for matrix info etc to confirm that the record that's being sold on the ebay link is 100% the styrene bootleg housed in a GSF sleeve. The styrene bootleg label has got distinct differences compared to the original vinyl and bootleg vinyl.
  4. Here's another copy that sold in May 2015: https://www.rootsvinylguide.com/ebay_items/the-victones-my-baby-changes-front-page-1001-red-lbl-tempts-sound So it was mastered and plated at Bell Sound. Whichever pressing plant it was that pressed the red/white labelled release didn't add anything to the run-out grooves. But when ARP pressed the red/black release, they used copies of the Bell Sound plated stamper and added their "ARP" stamp to the run-out grooves.
  5. It is from 1970 or very early 1971. Was reviewed in Billboard Magazine in the January 9, 1971 issue. The red/black variant is seemingly a whole lot rarer, but I can find two copies that have gone through ebay, is one of those yours?: https://gripsweat.com/item/122134258864/northern-soul-the-victones-my-baby-changes-front-page-m-rare-red-1st-press https://gripsweat.com/item/402760659091/victones-my-baby-changes-northern-soulsweet-soul-45-front-page-hear
  6. Most likely just a case of a different pressing plants done at the time of initial release. Slightly different typesetting on the red/black vs. white/red labels.
  7. Sorry, don't know what the song in the first 30 seconds is.
  8. It's Al Johnson "Sittin' Around" on BURT. Storming flipside as well!
  9. The filename of the soundclip on the rarenorthernsoul site is "ericandt.mp3", don't know if there's a clue in there. https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/just-like-the-weather-60475 ericandt.mp3
  10. 12266 is the mastering number and can be found in the run-out grooves on the so called "470" release as well.
  11. Don't know if it adds anything, but in the 25 Feb 1967 issue of Record World it is mentioned that Pete Garris (of Garrison Records and Wand/Scepter) has "made a deal [...] for the Chicago smash, ''Please Stay''".
  12. That's a great ballad! Thanks for sharing. Totally different tune than Wade Flemons.
  13. I've added an image to the Discogs entry now: https://www.discogs.com/release/25129108-El-Anthony-Crying-Without-Reason-Will-You-Wait
  14. Seems to be a combination of two of the sides from his Star-Vue releases.
  15. There was a thread on Facebook in the Rare Soul Talk group about this last year, assumed title is "They Say" or "Run Run Run", but no one came up with any definitive answer. Must be Carl Hall singing. Longer soundclip here:
  16. It's 2022 and they're selling an ebook on a USB drive. The mind boggles. It's a fantastic book. Someone should re-publish it instead as a regular size book with normal size lettering.
  17. My point was mainly that ALL of these LPs originally came out in mono, and you could without much effort get original copies of all of these for less than the price of this box set.
  18. What an incredible waste of vinyl/money/effort.
  19. Here's the link to it on Spotify, all tracks are there but not playable (probably available to some countries though):
  20. The Netflix documentary about her is well worth checking out though. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4284010/
  21. The debut album by swedish group Paola & The Mess Arounds entitled "Silently Whispering I Love U" has just been released! Heavily Motown / northern soul influenced stuff and includes plenty of great uptempo dancers. The album is available for streaming on Spotify and YouTube. It's also released on vinyl LP in an edition of 500 copies. The LP can be ordered from me at the cost of £20 (including worldwide shipping). If interested, PM me for more info. Here are three of the tunes:
  22. Ofcourse the Bear Family reissue is legit. Bear Family is one of, if not the, most prolific and respected reissue label in the entire world.
  23. Here he is rehearsing it prior to the Dig Deeper gig in NYC: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200136369312786 Some footage from the gig: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200295371887751
  24. For some reason I can't get the soundfiles on the site to play, but here are direct links to the 30-second soundclips: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Daptone/Previews/THE%20IMPRESSIONS/01%20Rhythm.wav https://s3.amazonaws.com/Daptone/Previews/THE%20IMPRESSIONS/02%20Star%20Bright.wav
  25. I've only skipped through it so far, but that looks awesome! Thanks for flagging it up.
