Was googling something entirely different but happened to find this clip of a guy called Aka Shaic from New Mexico who apparently has been "missing for over 30 years, living in trees, caves and abandoned houses". Is it the same guy that released the "Ain't No Big Thing Do" 45 on DOVE SONG from 1978? Surely it must be? That 45 is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. If that record had been properly listed (on both eBay UK and US, with a soundclip, with some marketing on forums etc.) it would've gone much higher. It was only listed on eBay UK and didn't turn up in searches on the US site no matter how you went about it. I'm with Pete on this one, the issue that sold on eBay above is the only relevant version in my opinion but horses for courses I guess.

OK, I had a look at past posts in this thread and it seems like: "Drum roll intro" and double-vocal version has got matrix numbers: 174-1719 NON-"drum roll intro" and single vocal version has got matrix numbers: 174-1719-1

The stampers for the two issues were made from two different "mothers". There simply must be some difference, if not in the numbers/etchings then at least the amount of turns or width/space between the last groove and the label will differ between the two pressings.

The matrixes can't be the exact same on both issues. They differ in some way.

You've got good memory! I did indeed include it on some swap CD during the early 2000's. I used to play this tune a lot around 2002-2004. I absolutely loved that tune back then, but haven't played it in years. Just played it a moment ago, probably should dust it off again.

Yes, the ITZY release has been "bootlegged" as well, twice at least.

It's interesting to note that between Manship's 5th edition and 6th edition price guides, he has changed the wording describing the ITZY release from "Pittsburgh reissue" in the 5th to "Pittsburgh issue" in the 6th and upped the "value" from £50 to £100. The Itzy release is a RE-ISSUE, why would anyone collecting original 45's have any interest in it?

Pete had a black labelled copy. The original black labelled release of "I Want To Share..." must be far rarer than either of the pressings of "It's You Girl". Perhaps not an as good or in-demand tune, but much harder to find.

I think you're mixing up two different pressings of this 45. If I read the sales blurb on his homepage right, the white labelled K-CITY 45 of this (which he is selling for $650!) features a slower version and was pressed in 2012 (it has been "sitting on the shelf for 34 years", 1978+34 = 2012). The black labelled PROMO copies were pressed in 1978. The promo that I've got is definitely not a 90's or 2010+ pressing. From the homepage: "I WANT TO SHARE MY LOVE WITH YOU This vinyl 45 was never released and only a few promo copies were pressed in 1978. This was the year the new Disco Scene became all the rage, so the K-City Records team decided not to release ”I Want To Share My Love With You.” The song has been sitting on the shelf for 34 years and now some of you lucky fans with your own copies have begun to sell those 45s, because of the music’s exclusivity. All releases on the Itzy label are reissues produced for the Pittsburgh area "oldies" market. There are no original releases on Itzy label. Itzy was an oldies label and still exists in one form or another: https://www.4ddai.com/itzy/ ITZY might've had some kind of legal deal going with SWAN, I don't know, but these are not the original or "local" releases which is so often stated. A legendary 45 by this group from Paducah, Kentucky that released three 45's and an EP. Definitely a very rare 45. It has got five entries on Popsike ranging from $209 to $622. Somewhere inbetween would be a realistic "value". A few more copies than the ones on Popsike have gone through eBay though.

You have got a vinyl copy on your hands, it is not pressed on styrene and you can't easily peel off the label. The bootleg has got pretty decent clarity to the sound, but it plays at roughly 50% of the volume of what an original plays like.

Post a picture of it and someone on here will let you know.

I've never seen an original vinyl release of this 45 and highly doubt that one exist. The vinyl bootleg which is pictured above is however very convincing as far as the matrix details goes. If anyone has got this on an original vinyl 45, please A/B it with an original styrene press. As Pete hinted at, they should play at the exact same volume.

Has got poor sound quality (mastered at very low volume) compared to the original styrene press though.

The one you've got is a counterfeit/repro (it's pressed on vinyl, not styrene).

The ELF label that Leon Collins was released on is not the same label as the ELF label that released Clifford Curry, Bobbi Lynn, Dan Folger etc. The ELF label that released Hollywood Saxons etc. is yet another different label.

I don't know if it's a boot or legitimate release. I just wanted to know if there was something I missed that explained it to be an official reissue.
