Value Jesse James - Love Affair - Promo
Usually goes for $30-$50 (£20-£30) on eBay and there are at least 3 copies per month most times of the year. A well known US dealer had big quantity of this title (100+) a couple of years ago.

Bobby Garrett - I Just Can't Get Away
Are we really still going over this? The delta number and run-out groove markings were deliberately forged and copied when they made the counterfeit pressed on vinyl (which is pictured at the top of this thread, it is NOT an original, I don't care what any "top collectors" said, since they are obviously wrong and either themselves own and compare it to the counterfeit OR don't know how to accurately scrutinize the differences between different presses, vinyl vs. styrene etc.). For example: take a look at the MR "stamp" on the vinyl counterfeit of this 45 and compare it to the ORIGINAL styrene press. It does not look the same. It should look the same if it was pressed at monarch (which the counterfeit wasn't). The bootleggers made a mistake when they forged the stamp on the vinyl counterfeit.

Gold Plate Records
Seems to be from Akron, Ohio. Many of the releases on the label are by roughly the same bunch of people recording under different names. More info here: https://www.buckeyebeat.com/harmonics.html

Johnny Thunder - I'm Alive - Calla
By the way, has got the same basic backing track as the Tommy James version (he wrote it), but with added fuzz etc. Although I love Tommy James, his version of this is weak.

Johnny Thunder - I'm Alive - Calla
The hype text above is from one of my old eBay listings. The Johnny Thunder version of "I'm Alive" is one of the best pieces of music ever recorded in my opinion. Interesting piece about it in an interview with Bob Dylan from a 1968 issue of "Rolling Stone" magazine: WENNER: Is there anything happening on the current rock and roll scene that strikes you as good? DYLAN: Yeah, I heard a record by Johnny Thunder. It’s called “I’m Alive.” Never heard it either, huh? Well, I can’t believe it. Everyone I’ve talked to, I’ve asked them if they’ve heard that record. WENNER: Is it on the radio right now? DYLAN: I don’t know. I heard it on the radio a month ago, two months ago... three months ago. It was one of the most powerful records I’ve ever heard. It’s called “I’m Alive.” By Johnny Thunder. Well, it was that sentiment, truly expressed. That’s the most I can say... if you heard the record, you’d know what I mean. But that’s about all...

Any Info On This Herman Griffin Record
Interesting. Has got the same matrix prefix ("ZLP") as this earlier series that ran from 1949-1950, marketed as "7" LPs": https://www.45cat.com/45_list_view_record.php?li=902 I've got a King Coleman 45 on Columbia with a cat# (41927) that is fairly close to the Herman Griffin (41951) that also has got a solid centre, but it revolves at 45rpm as usual and has got the ordninary red label.

Robby Lawson - Other 45S?
Is the "Love Ain't..." track a version of this tune by The Del Capris called "Our Love (It Ain't The Same No More)"? It's written by Paul Kyser.

The Babysitters - Wait 'til I Get To Know Ya
Just found this written on here in 2008 by KevH: "found out the Ken Williams "Get to know ya",is taken from master tapes originally owned by the Festival records boss.Done as a demo for Bobby Treetop. Later released as a batch of 200 in '79 on the Spectator label,by the then owner of the master tapes, who shall remain nameless"

The Babysitters - Wait 'til I Get To Know Ya
In the latest Manship guide it is listed and seems to exist: Ken Williams - Get To Know Ya' / same - SPECTATOR 2 (70s bootleg poor quality) - £20 Also, several mentions of it existing on the internet, but no proof. Would love to see a scan of it in case it indeed exists.

The Babysitters - Wait 'til I Get To Know Ya
I guess the SPECTATOR "label" credit in that CD was just a bunch of smoke and mirrors then? I've always been led to believe that it was issued as a bootleg 45 in the 70's, but I've never seen a copy, so that's probably wrong.
-
The Babysitters - Wait 'til I Get To Know Ya
It's a fantastic version. Was included on one of the Goldmine CD's (one of the "Northern Soul Fever" volumes if I remember correctly). If anyone has got the 45 for sale, please get in touch with me. It's on Youtube as well:

Gino Washington
Are you not thinking of "I'm A Coward (When It Comes To Love)" written by Springsteen himself (with refererences to Hulk Hogan, Mike Tyson etc. in the lyrics)? Obviously influenced by the Gino Washington tune but actually a totally different song.
