  1. Wild Honey on HOUSTON INTERNATIONAL and GEORGIA PEACH are two different groups.
  2. Poor photo, but here it is from Manship's guide:
  3. Sebastian replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
It was indeed reissued a couple of years ago on a lookalike 45, so beware. Great tune!
  4. Only about 6 hours to go on these auctions now: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  5. I've sadly noticed that people sometimes make slurs about this fact and that many of the european nights are in cities with a big student population. As if the "european events" are not "real" enough if you know what I mean. And perhaps they're right, I don't know? Many of them are not northern soul events per se (but with a diet of at least 75% northern being played... and mostly top notch stuff at that). The majority of the punters don't have an extensive knowledge about the music or the scene, but they dance their asses off and month after month return to the clubs to get their dose of soul music to dance to. The fact that there are so comparatively few events like this outside the UK makes it easier to draw big-ish crowds as well, I guess. I can't see how it could possibly be a bad thing though.
  6. It would surprise me if the french releases on the GOOGA MOOGA label are bootlegs. Demand for them at the time of release was pretty much nonexistent. GOOGA MOOGA 701 - Eddie Parker - Love You Baby (vocal) / Love You Baby (instrumental) GOOGA MOOGA 702 - Al Gardner - Sweet Baby / I Can't Stand It GOOGA MOOGA 703 - Ironing Board Sam - Funky Bell Bottoms / Treat Me Right GOOGA MOOGA 704 - Eddie Parker - I Need A True Love / Crying Clown ...and with Billy Sha-Rae tracks being released at roughly the same time on french DISCQUES VOGUE (which are definitely not bootlegs) it to me seems like someone was shopping these productions around. DISQUES VOGUE INT.80273 - Billy Sha-Rae - Let's Do It Again / I'm Gone DISQUES VOGUE INT.80265 - Billy Sha-Rae - Do It / Crying Clown
  7. Will not be able to listen on saturday, but would love to hear this. Will a download be available?
  8. There's now about 2 days left on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html

  10. This should work: Hold down Apple key + Shift + 4 then release all keys. Now, You will see the mouse cursor will change to + You can start to drag your mouse to select the portion you wish to capture. Once finished, you will see a picture file at your desktop.
  11. If you're using a PC: click the key marked "PrtSc" on your keyboard (short for PRINT SCREEN). Nothing seems to happen, but a copy of the entire screen has been saved. Then open an image editor, click paste and there you go!
  12. That's what I suspect happened as well. Perhaps Campbell "forgot" who wrote the original music and just went ahead with it... Oh well!
  13. Looks great! By the way, does anyone know what Regional Garland's links were to "It's You For Me" by Carla Whitney? Has got the exact same backing track as 21st Generations "I Need Love", but there is no mention of Garland anywhere on the Carla Whitney 45.
  14. Well, there you go! Thanks for the info.
  15. I know. But why is the yellow/red labelled issue at all considered an original? Its catalogue number is 13 numbers after the green styrene issue. Surely a reissue of some sort?
  16. I've always been of the impression that the only true original issue of "Manifesto" is the green labeled one (cat# LEGEND 1001), pressed on styrene and credited to Case Of Tyme.
  17. I have it. It's a rare 45 (or scarce at least) and doesn't turn up very often. Took me years to find it.
  18. Thanks for the comments and downloads everyone! I'm glad you're enjoying the selection.
  19. Which Jimmy Burns 45 is "hardly rare"? "I Really Love You"? For sure not impossible to track down if you have the money, but pretty elusive I'd have to say.
  20. It's a pity that these were the last two 45s on the Kellmac label. Would've been intersting to see how far they could've taken it speed-wise!
  21. Combinations is about 156 bpm. C.O.D.'s is about 174 bpm. For comparison "Do I Love You" by Frank Wilson is about 144 bpm, "I'm Gone" by Eddie Parker is about 138 bpm.
  22. "She's fire" is a truly fantastic tune in my book. And before anyone comes dragging with the old "it wouldn't have gotten the time of day if it was a £10 record" spiel... Like most people who hear a tune for the first time, I had no idea of its rarity the first time I heard it. It just blew me away and I've wanted a copy ever since. "She's Fire" is a unique sounding tune and very fast indeed. Whether you can dance to it or if it's suitable in a northern soul context is totally irrelevant in my opinion.
  23. Went far "cheaper" than I thought it would actually.
  24. Which means that you have to trust the postie 100%. All I know is that airsure packages delivered to Sweden are delivered with the regular post, it is NOT scanned by the postie before it is slipped through the mailbox. To pick up packages sent registered to Sweden (at your doorstep or at the post office, not including airsure though) you have to show your ID. Actually if the name on the package and the name on the ID doesn't match the package will be returned to sender and I'm not allowed to collect it. Has happened a couple of times to me when the package has been mailed to "S. Fonzeus" or "Mr. Fonzeus" instead of "Sebastian Fonzeus". The reasoning being that someone else on that same address MIGHT have the same lastname as me but a different first name beginning with the same letter as mine. Splitting hairs I know, but it has happened at least 3 times to me. Was NOT happy when I left the post office those times...
