Issued both on an LP and a 45 on the SILVER SPOON label. Re-issued a couple of years ago on that SOUL "O" SONIC 45. The original LP looks like this: The original 7" looks like this:

My bad, I have gone back and edited my posting so that it reflects my true opinion. Let's just agree to disagree.

Ofcourse some people can and are conned by re-presses, but people who know how to check these things does not get conned. You will not be fooling anyone. Especially not if you're trying to counterfeit an existing release. I mean, just such a thing as the volume of the sound on the disc. How are you going to get the volume at the exact same dB as the original? With the exact same wave form? That is nigh on impossible. And I'd be surprised if there is even ONE pressing plant that will be willing to forge ARCHER / NASHVILLE MATRIX / GlobeNASHVILLE etc. stamps and put into the deadwax.

Do you seriously believe that it's possible today to make a perfect replica of a 40+ year old 45? There are so many things to "get right" that you're bound to mess up somewhere along the line. Even if you've got the old master plates you will not be able to pull it off, because something in the label printing or the consistence of the vinyl is bound to give it away as a repro.

- Best Sleeves To Keep 45S In?
Same thing. Never use PVC outer sleeves and use high quality non-plastic lined paper inner sleeves. As far as LPs are concerned, one of the worst examples I've come across is the Sweden-only debut LP by Boz Scaggs ("Boz" from 1965) which actually was issued with a plastic lined inner sleeve which over the years has reacted with the vinyl. No one knew it at the time of its release, so few people changed the original inner sleeve for a standard paper inner. As a result that LP is almost impossible to find without those "streaks" or dulling do the vinyl which results in hiss, noise etc. I'm sure there are lots of other examples of this.- Best Sleeves To Keep 45S In?
The record store I work part-time in was offered a huge superb collection of UK punk / new wave / powerpop 45s a couple of years ago. All of the picture sleeved releases had been stored in plastic PVC outer sleeves since its release and more than 75% of those 45s were totally destroyed (surface looked dull, had streaking, played with constant hiss etc. - just like described above). I wouldn't use any kind of PVC outer sleeves or plastic lined inner sleeves for my 45s, it's just not worth risking in my opinion.- Anyone Know This....?
Nov 30, 2010 08:56:36 PST- Want - Jack Hammer Down The Subway
It is called "Down In The Subway" on the original UK Polydor LP. It is mis-spelled "Down The Subway" on the swedish Polydor 45. That kind of stuff happened all the time here in Scandinavia during the 60s. How about "(I Can Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones on danish Decca...- Tommy & Derbys
I've experienced that a lot as well, mostly on CDs though (which is even more frustrating in my opinion). I think it's just a case of the person responsible for the reissue being lazy and careless. I mean seriously, if a large centre-hole 7" is pressed off-centre, why not spend an extra minute or two to properly align the record (without using the middle) prior to doing the dub?- Anyone Know This....?

- Timeless Legend (Black Forest) Label Colors
I don't know the story behind the different colours, but the two labels have got differing publishing credits, plus the green one has got a catalogue number printed on the label (BF-900) whereas the blue one doesn't. For what it's worth, he's sold 7 copies during the past two weeks: https://tinyurl.com/2vj87qe- Anyone Know This....?
I bought a copy of this 45 from the seller on eBay, it arrived yesterday and it is definitely a legit 60s pressing. It has got the same kind of hard-to-read raised hallmark/letters (M.S.I. CO. written backwards) "under" the label as the original issue of Epitome Of Sound and many other Philadelphia releases from that time (V-TONE was from Philadelphia).- Value Please - Black Sugar
The latest bunch of copies on eBay have sold for: 2010-10-28 - $191.50 2010-10-03 - $262.00 2010-08-23 - $282.78 So I guess anywhere between £125-£175 is reasonable.- Ebay: Byther Smith, Otis Rush, Bill & Will, Little Bob

...and $0.50 is not "a fortune". It is super cheap to list buy-it-now auctions. The final value fees are high though. But seeing as no one buys this sellers goods, it shouldn't be a problem for him/her.- Holy Moses
No matter how high the price is, it never costs more than $0.50 to list a "fixed priced listing" (i.e. buy it now). It costs $2.00 to list something as an "auction style listing" when you have a starting price of $200 or more.
