Rob, wasn't it used for the intro to tv cricket on BBC in the 70's? If not sure is close. Kev

Hi Pat Last time I was down the BHM was when me and our Dave did the last alldayer there. I think you'd gone back to Ireland by then. It was an OK day but I got the impression that some people didn't turn up out of loyalty to you (which I can sort of understand). ...and it pissed down all day. I was also there the night Jr Walker was due to play. I came up from London with a bunch of friends. Shame that night, it had so much going for it then so much lost! I've got great memoties of BHM. I remember arguing like a gud 'un with Tim Brown about how he wouldn't lend me a few records to listen to when he had suitcases full of them. Fighting with George Sharp cos he wouldn't do me a deal with £2.00 off £35 worth of records. Trying to get Pat Brady into a vodka session (just for fun).Great days. I was talking to Arthur Fenn about how I used to spend lots of time in the Modern room and asked him if it was always empty (the music was fantastic). I'd never seen more than 5 people in there. He said they'd had some chocker do's in there. maybe I missed the more popular sessions somehow. Always loved that modern room with Sam, Arthur and Pete Haigh. All the best for the future. Kev

Wow! I'd sure like to see one of those. I'd have it straight out of the box and heading for Mayair. It would be interesting to see how they arranged the property. Bet top blue was FW. ...and Old Kent Rd...something by Black Russian! Would be good to see those photo's Mike. Hi A bit of fun for the weekend. A few years ago I made up a design for a Northern Soul Monopoly with Ric-Tic and Golden World taking the place of Old Kent Rd and Whitechapel. Frank Wilson's DILYIID was Mayfair coz of rareity and value. Shrine were the green streets etc. Community chest was selling and swopping records/ palmed off with a boot or a nice shiny white demo The Water works. Ramesy Lewis. I would have thought that Motown used various pressing plants as this would cut down on haulage costs while distributing the records. Kev

I went to see Maze at Hammersmith Odeon every year during the mid/late 80's. The first time I went I stopped by the stage door clutching copies of Because of My Heart and If That's What You Wanted. He laughed and went back to get his band. When he returned he said, 'Here he is. You're one of those nutters who collect the records I made when I was a kid. We had a good laugh and a chat. Nice bloke and Maze were awesome-year after year. So yeah I'd say he knows alright. Kev

Dear Russ I have heard that there are good support groups scattered around the country although some people would recommend some over others. These usually take place in the middle of the night at weekends and people have been known to go into strange dancing fits. If the symptoms continue I suggest you go with the flow as I have known others with a similar disposition and frankly they say there is no known cure. Good Luck. Kev
