  1. Phil, after his spot that night I went up to Ted (I'd never met him before) and asked him if he'd come to the Attic and do a spot for us which he agreed to. The night was fantastic and he was soon asked to do spots at various soul nights round our area. Years later Ted told me that was what got the ball rolling for him and led to where he ended up......nice to have played a small part in his journey
  2. RIP Ted, what a lovely bloke - you will be sadly missed by us all......
  3. Not disagreeing about half price being a bargain of sorts but I dont think you can use general discogs prices as a comparison as a lot of sellers on there are completely delusional
  4. Well I ordered 11 records on the 27th December and received 8 - all of which were graded as M- 5 of them weren't M- in my opinion so I returned them and they arrived back there 9 days ago but no sign of my refund yet (yes I have rung up) Almost 6 weeks and I'm not sorted out yet, not really satisfactory from someone of Johns standing - very disappointing experience Update... refund received
  5. Ordered on 27th December and its still showing as processing, starting to get a bit cheesed off as its coming up to 3 weeks now. Yes I know there was the new year and weather problems but if he's doing them chronologically there can't have been that many before me can there? Plus Ive paid for special delivery which should minimise any delays from the Royal Mail side of things
  6. I was looking through his site some time ago and came to the opinion that with time ticking away, he would never get round to selling a large % of them (especially at those prices) I also understand he has a large number of unprocessed records yet to be listed? So who knows
  7. Its genuine I've bought a few although they haven't arrived yet. `I wouldn't necessarily call them bargains but 1/2 price takes them to a reasonable level for me which tells you what my valuations are compared to his

  23. That’s what’s always created an “atmosphere” something that is sadly lacking nowadays
  24. Of course this contributes to the almost zero levels of atmosphere in venues now as well -most of em don't look like they're feeling the music but thats another story I suppose
  25. I don’t know but I don’t see many decent dancers these days (IMO of course) either in person or on videos, in fact I really don’t like watching video clips. I suppose not many look like they’re “in” it to me
