Benny Latimore- Girl I've Got News
Just bought an interesting record, its an Argentinian issue of Benny Latimore - Girl I've Got News For You. Its on a label called Fermata and although its a regular 7" record, it plays at 33rpm. Anyone come across this kind of thing before, any thoughts etc? Seem to remember JM had an Argentinian Joannie Sommers on his auction a while back

"baby, Baby, Dont You Do It"
If this is the same tape that I've got ( other tracks - Professionals, Gallahads, Metros, Tranells etc ) Rob asked me to copy it a while ago cos he'd lost his. He promised me a full listing of it but he's gone back into scarlet pimpernel mode and I havent been able to contact him. If I get one I'll post it up. By the way he did a spot for us at the Attic in Mansfield a couple of months ago with their Chris' records, he was on top form - more like his old self than for a long time. Top yowth

The Sound Judgement
Thanks lads, I just got one for £6 and wondered if I'd got a bargain - not bad You're right about it being a Wigan sound and not being spun much Mark, I've had it on a tape for about 26 years and I dont think I've ever heard it played out since. I'll be rectifyng that situation at the Attic Club Mansfield in the not too distant future Cheers

Your First Allnighter
17 years old March or April 78 went to Coalville Tiffs on the Fri ( 12 hours ) car broke down on the M1 back to Mansfield so got home about 12 midday. After a couple of hours sleep there was a knocking on the door  Opened it to find Mart Baggaley & Bri Beastall there " come on youth, we're going to Wigan, bus for Manchester leaves at 5.40" What well there was no way I was going to let them two say they'd been to Wigan without me! Got back in Mansfield 2pm Sunday absolutely bolloxed. What a weekend and no smarties either The rest as they say is history
