  1. Someone out there has my copy,of "how sweet it is" Jnr walker ... On the white/purple SOUL issue,. Signed by the man himself,. I had it stolen from under my nose, during the Rock City gig, early 80's. 😫😮 I also sold a box of records which included a copy of Nate Evans, this time with feeling, signed by Curtis Mayfield (there is a link)
  2. Astonishing that these sort of videos exist. Wonderful !
  3. A proper machine stamp or scratched in ? My Dynatones,. Fife Piper (st Clair) has the same Nashville stamp, so I'm quite sure mine is pukka
  4. How can I tell ? I've had my copy since forever . The label looks good, the whole thing looks good, so what determines a proper one against a counterfeit ?
  5. Absolutely brilliant. A superb singer, no question
  6. i wonder if Reuben Howell was one of those
  7. That's mine, not sure why anyone in the States would bootleg an easily available record, but stranger things have happened
  8. Thanks for the photo, Chris. Mine is as per the bottom photo, but only has 'overcome' as publishers
  9. Please put me out of my misery... I've scoured popsike/the web for a definitive answer on what's original and what's not. There seems to be different text on different copies, so which is legit?
  10. IF anyone posts a playlist,. It's usually on here

Interesting thread, . As a fellow percussionist,. I'm always happy to read up on this kind of story! Earl Young, a guy who is responsible for a lot of tunage, he's also an innovator in drum recording techniques, very prominent hi hats ('think ' the jokes on you' Kenny Gamble) , gating, compression etc,.mwe have a lot to thank him for, a fine drummer. "If you don't know me by now" is a masterpiece in drumming terms,. So so difficult to nail a song at such a slow tempo,. RESPECT
