  9. I personally visited Wigan Casino FOUR times and the Mecca ONCE. the times i went to Wigan, 2 were oldies anniversaries, 1 was 7th Anniv and the other was a christmas all niter (79). The 3 annivs were Rammed the other was ok (ish). the only time i went to Blackpool was summer 1980, went up to the highland room to some kind of 'Soul night' whilst a general Disco was goin on downstairs. i think i caught it when past its' sell by date, but i also remember it being busy and very soulful. I was 18 around that time so its a bit hazy, but i do remember the atmosphere at the Casino, nothing like it , so i've got to go for that. Just a shame i never caught the Mecca in its heyday, no doubt a magical place
  10. £3.50 for a Frank Beverly 'Sassy' issue in our local record shop , mind it was about 1978/79
  11. I'll never understand people who prefer to sit at home alone and share their music with the cat. My cat loves it And im not going to stop him listening to it He has worn a hole through on my carpet from Stomping Debbie x
  12. This may offend some folk.................................so im sorry in advance........................but i find it quite funny when serious politics come into it I see the poll with alot of votes for a problem on the scene At the end of the day...........................we are only on this earth for a short time & we have found a type of music that we all love.............................................so let's just enjoy it while we can The only time this scene becomes not very enjoyable is when folk keep complaining about what's getting played, what's being worn, & who's doing what Does it really matter???..................................Cause it won't change anything Debbie x

next sunday (may bank hol) there are two all dayers and a 'big' evening event , all within a stones throw from each other. where will they all choose to go? lets just hope there are enough punters' to go round. seems to me that sometimes there is an over abundance of venues to choose from. good or bad? i dunno
  22. talkin of Ruben Howell.... i had the Carl Carlton version, cracking tune
  23. yeah thats fair enough Nick. i have both albums here, been a long time since i played either of them. poet 1 was 81, second was 84.
  24. I bought the Poet 2 on its release in 84, so theres no way so many sides was a casino spin. unless of course there was an alternative version beforehand. IAN
