I bet someone doesn't have Darrell Banks on 45, the game can't end this early..............- The Soul 45
This might be interesting. We just did this on another music board with LPs & ended up not even being able to find a common artist let alone single LP on a board of collectors with seemingly similar tastes. If we can't get a common 45 then it drops to common artist & failing that common label. It's interesting because things that you think are a give in are not kept in the collection by some people because they are either too common, or not representative of their favorite sound. Let lots of "I don't own that" followed by "how can you not own that" ensue You have to currently have the 45 in question filed, pressings don't matter so long as you can find it on 45 in your collection. I'll get the ball rolling, does anyone here not have: The Supremes "Baby Love" The Temptations "My Girl" ??? ps. if you don't collect 45s please don't say no to everything just to wreck it like I think some people were doing on the other board.- Some Soul From Down Under
Damn, I like the look of that James Brown. I have 4 of his on New Zealand King & 1 on NZ Zodiac.- Vikki Styles "tears Won't Stop Falling" Odex
I had never heard this 45 until late last year when I found it for $1 in a box of otherwise country & polka 45s, definitely my find of the year. It has quickly become one of my favorite 45s. I did a big search on it when I found it & last year from what I could find online there were a handful of VG++ to NM copies that sold from $750 up to $2200 middling at about $1500. I quickly went & bought her 45 on Leno too, it's good as well, but not as good IMO. I think it's getting more well known & going for a bit less this year maybe? Hope this info helps.- Some Soul From Down Under

RIP- How Did It Get There?
Living in New Zealand I have been consistently amazed with the amount of US press non-major label soul & funk I have come across. Unfortunately for this thread though, after inquiring around I am 100% certain as to how rare US 45s made their way down here in the 60s & 70s. Also, the ship ballast story is 100% true, records were used & often onsold from the point of unload.- Eddie Bo Dies
Yes, RIP to a towering figure whose contributions to R&B will never be forgotten. Absolutely a legend & absolutely one of the greats. Sad news.- Some Soul From South Africa
To answer your PM, I've never seen that one, but I don't think I'd buy it if I did see it. File under "rare but undesirable" (to non-completists at least)- Frank Wilson On Soul Auction

Most (all?) of the publisher's royalties for New Zealand at this time went through Australia & that is the publisher's royalty mark, not the country of press. Definitely a New Zealand press on the later NZ Philips variation. I collect the New Zealand presses & can try to get some pics up if anyone cares.- Betty Harris To Appear Live In Fremantle W.a
Did you miss her the last two times?? The 2nd time she was playing Melbourne while the national weekender was there. She puts on a great show, not to be missed. Did you manage to catch Syl Johnson recently?- Prices Please
Still great though.- Can Anyone Help This Artists
I can send him my spare of the Adventurers (I just realised I have 2). Send me his postage address.- Ric-tic Question - Thoughts?
My copy is the yellow label/red text "double-o-soul" version, but definitely styrene. I don't know if I've ever seen a Ric-Tic 45 made of vinyl, only styrene. Edit: I stand corrected, I just checked my partner's collection & she has the yellow/red/vinyl variation. So definitely the yellow/red label originally came out on both vinyl & styrene. What a mess.- David Ruffin Fans?
