  2. Anyone know if this is around? If so whats the sheckle situation? Cheers guys Jim
  3. I always thought that Dave G advised AGAINST bringing the tour over at that time. One of the most influential and passionate black music pioneers we've all known given a cursory mention. Who it has to be asked, are these researchers? The picture cock up defies comprehension. Perhaps it's just as well 'they'll' never get it right. Oh well. Jim
  4. Ray Frazier 'loneliness', never will own this litte gem due to the funk on t'other. Tears in my eyes Jim
  5. Jim Elliott replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL

  10. The wife bought me a 'xmas with Motown' cd about 10 years ago, a bit cheesy but it does warm the cockles when the trees up. 'Little bright star', diana ross and the supremes is nice for a bit of novelty value. This is in no way an endorsement of diana ross ! I'll get me sleigh Jim
  11. Thanx guys, looks like mines kosher................for once! (the musics nice as well) Regards Jim
  12. Folks, A mate recently picked up this fine longplayer for me in Kingston for a song, (along with the Smoke album?!) I was under the impression it was a tad difficult to come by. Water Lily recs, Lp number is Arco 003. My knowledge of west indian music is even worse than my knowledge of black american music, sorry . Have I got, or was it reissued? Ta Jim
  13. I thought I was the only person still moaning on about that. Oh no, I havent shut up since! It's me, I know. Jim
  14. Mine's a demo as well, white label with no logo. I'll have to check my Sharon Davis bible to see if it got a legit release? Jim
  15. Cracked up the other week when somebody mentioned on here that playing tracks from albums (from releases that were also released as 45's) was apparently considered 'bad form', has it come to this? Surely if it's a kosher release in either format it's got to be spun out ain't it? I mean seriously, get a grip. Two rather extreme cases in point are Don Gardner ' we're gonna make it big' and Solid Solution ' think about it girl', both are rarer on a seven than a Womack encore in Brum' but should they not be played off the albums at all because their on albums? Hilariously I also remember reading in a rather worryingly glossy ' brand leading fanzine' a couple of years ago a so called scene leader was now starting to feel reluctant to actually play his records out because he didn't want to run the risk of damaging them, whilst conversley digging about the rather worrying trend in venues that have more of a cd bias!! Soul Snobs, their out there. Is it me? Jim
  16. Tremendous album this. Fave is 'Suspicion'. I'd say you got a bargain there. Regards Jim
  17. Heres hoping.............'see you when I get there' Lou R. Enoughs enough now guys. Jim
  18. Tremendous side, a tad better than the Appreciations (IMHO). Mine was a £50 touch from a very nice chap from the Nottingham area. Also, whats the story with 'Is this the real thing' by the same dude on the same label 'released' at the same time? Jim
  19. .............altho' Alan Turner from Emmerdale has also expressed a preference. thats enough now with apologies Jim
  20. I think the good moneys' on Eammon Holmes . Oh dear Jim
  21. You just know it's going to be done properly don't you. Tremendous is an undertatement. Regards Jim
  22. Let's all jump on the transient gravy train that is 'the retro soul sound', (whine)house, stone, fluffy, or whatever the warbling drongos name is. Utter s'#]- the lot of it. Watered down regurgitated pap for the cerebrally disadvantaged. Can't wait for it all to implode again so we're back to a couple of thousand into the music. I'll get me scarf Jim Sorry guys, caught me at the wrong moment.
  23. That's funny Jim
