Sorry to have to inform you all despite all the hype this week regarding myself covering a show tomorrow on www.starpointradio.com 6pm - 8pm, I had to pre - record the show and send it by post to the London based studio and guess what despite being sent Tuesday by next day delivery registerd post the package has yet to be delivered, toatally out of mine and the stations control, I'm really fed up about this but it's simply bad luck, however it's not all doom and gloom as the new show will be starting next Saturday night October 20th www.starpointradio.com and on the Sky channel, for requests,mentions,dedications for 'The Soul Shack' contact bicknellmark@aol.com Again really sorry for the big let down for tomorrow night but blame the Post Office. Both Rob and Karen are good friends of ours and whatever has gone off here is very sad indeed, I've not DJ'd at the weekender since 2004 but did the first few and Rob's commitment and professional approach to all aspects of the event were second to none, you can sometimes put your heart and soul into something and still be pushed out of the picture, you both have our support and we are down the end of a phone if you need a chat. For me personally the music comes first above the scene as such, for a few years now I have done less and less DJ'ing and gigs for one reason or another, basically now I go out when I'm kindly invited to DJ but it is no longer a weekly thing for me, other stuff to do as my boy is coming on as a Goalkeeper so that takes up a great deal of time and money I might add....lol I still have a passion for the records, music and collecting but I do that on my own terms and do it for me rather than the DJ thing if the two meet in the middle then fantastic but if not that's cool. The scene has changed so much in recent years, too many events, too many DJ's etc. etc. the music is king nothing else. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
