How Much Should I Sell This For Please?
I take your point. It is probably because I have seen loads of them out and about in dealers boxes at the £10 - £20 mark back in the 90's, when nobody wanted them because they were only £10 - £20, and common. Same thing with the Montclairs - Hung Up On Your Love, early 90's Pep had a box full of issues and demos in his shop £10 / £20. Martyn

How Much Should I Sell This For Please?
As I commented on your sales post Pete, given the choice of a record to spend £120 on from your list I would take the Al Wilson demo. I must admit that I am amazed at what folks pay for common records these days, especially as rarity has no bearing on price. Martyn

New List - Some Cracking Stuff Here Today
Nice list Pete Al Wilson Help Me - £125 Satisfactions - £120 (and sold) amazing what a £10 record can fetch these days, the Al Wilson is great value Martyn

Whats Wrong With People
Harry Following the link in your first post, it claims that 'Soultrain' was registered in 2005, if you have been using the name for the last 6 years and can prove it, your usage pre-dates his, so tell him to **** off . The other option is to rename them 'Old MacDonalds Soul Nights' Martyn

Lester Tipton Reissue Question
Grapevine one is fine, with the added bonus of the superb ' Masqueraders - How' on the other side, however it can be one of the trickier ones on the label to find. Martyn

Missing Record
Liam you are a child...have you looked properly Check you have not got two records in one sleeve. If you write the artist and title on the top of the sleeve, check you have not put it in the wrong sleeve. Good luck tracking it down Martyn

Manifesto Fanzine
There is no way BeeCool will have those, but it might be worth trying John Manship, he did say to someone the other day that he had a large number of soul magazines, but had not got around to listing them, but would check if he had specific issues. Martyn

Manifesto Fanzine
Depends which ones, the early ones from 1 up to around 34 were done by Polly and Dennis, then it was sold for a tremendous sum to the BeeCool chaps, leaving Polly to buy a yacht and retire to the sun. (OK maybe I made up the bit about the tremendous sum .) The early ones are the ones to have, akin to the Viz magazine of the Soul world, however I would imagine tricky to get hold of back issues. Best bet to post up the numbers you want, however bear in mind Polly managed to cock up the numbering in the twenty's so there is an A & B added, if you really need to know I can find them out and let you know which ones they were. The Group (featuring Cecil Washington)
Interesting, I suppose the impact of the Fab Four ran through all genres of the music industry at the time. These guys were not setting out to produce rare records, they were after a decent living and better way of life for themselves. Always strikes me as ironic that the ones that failed are the ones that succeeded over here. Still going back to the record in question, had I bought it blind, without prior knowledge I would have played the Light Of Day side. Martyn

Thanks for that, sanity returns. Martyn

The Group (featuring Cecil Washington)
I had stopped going by then, fed up with the manufactured soul that was being played. I have played it out on a few occasions, sounds good loud. Martyn

The Group (featuring Cecil Washington)
The one I saw was a Red version of the Prophonics label the original is on, it had the look and feel of a look-alike boot, and the price being asked would have been a lot higher at the time (real ones were around £300 then). It was being sold by a dealer, who would have known if it had a higher value, it was not in the middle of somebodys 50 box. Martyn
-
The Group (featuring Cecil Washington)
I hope it was a boot, it was about £20 - £30, would have been a bargain Martyn
-
The Group (featuring Cecil Washington)
Last one I saw go through John Manship's auction was over £2000. I have seen a red look alike boot, long time ago, not seen another. The 'B' side 'Light Of Day' is as good, and worth a listen Martyn

Flaming Emeralds-have Some Everybody
With the orange one it is easier to find a lemon to pay £90 for it. Martyn
-
Flaming Emeralds-have Some Everybody
Heres a thought .... the blue ones were re-issues, thing is everyone (and their dog) had bought an orange one, so there were fewer blue ones sold .... does that sound plausable Keiths prices look more realistic. Martyn

Flaming Emeralds-have Some Everybody
Yes I am well thanks, thing is Dazz it's remembering which bloody box they are in, and I may as well sit on them until they are fetching big money . Is it worth letting out any of these Cecil Washingtons yet Martyn

Flaming Emeralds-have Some Everybody
There are some people out there who need to take a serious look at themselves, there is no way that this is anywhere near rare, I must have two or three copies kicking around in various boxes here somewhere. There were loads of these about, they were bought in quantity as a new release in 77, every man and his dog bought one at the time. I would be embarrased to ask for more than £10 for it. Is it the buyers are getting too lazy to look properly. Martyn

Flaming Emeralds-have Some Everybody
with Pete on this, would have thought £10 max. Martyn
