  2. After a copy of this. Please PM if you have one and willing to part company. Thanks.
  3. Love it!
  4. Thanks chaps. Anyone got one to sell?
  5. I wondered if the answer might be along those lines! Thanks for the tip that it is one that floats around very occasionally. Miss those nights. Great times and great sounds.
  6. This may have been asked before, but occasionally bugs me when it pops into my head. But at the height of the Capitol Soul Club at the Dome, Dave Flynn used to spin a cover up which was a right down and dirty slab of rough 60s, Hammond driven funk with a Northern feel to it. It was covered as Fran Oliver "Searching For My Man". Anyone know what it was?
  7. Freddie Mercury is still alive then..............
  8. Was his name Pete Smith, by any chance.........???
  9. ............suggested by a well-known Cardiff secondhand record dealer. Please discuss.

  11. Is this for real??!!! Or have I quantum leaped into a few weeks time and found myself in April 1st?
  12. And, i depressingly predictable fashion, that is exactly what happened. What did anyone really expect? :sleep3:

Apologies if I am a bit out of touch with things, but I think I'm correct in saying that about 10 years ago, there were 2 versions of the Jesse James 'Love Is Alright' being played out - the one Butch had (brilliant ) and the one Kenny Burrell was playing (same backing - crap vocal ). Which is this? Also, about 2000/2001, the Butch one came out on Soul City - was that legit or a boot?
  14. It's Elvis Presley. He owns it. He lives in Hull and he owns the Frank Wilson that Kenny sold. He plays it when he DJs at house parties he throws for Marilyn, Michael Jackson, JFK etc etc. Of course, the parties are OVO, so Colin Curtis isn't invited.
  15. Mike I'm 6 years behind you mate and, having started again a year ago, I'm into building my 4th collection or so and my mind is buzzing around the same potential dilemma. Particularly because this collection is something I would like to build on more than previously rather than selling up when personal circumstances dictated. But, hey, as you say it is only a hobby.............or is it????
  16. Hi All Looking for one of these. PM please. M
  17. Is this the same chappie as King Ernest (without the 'a') on Barry?
  18. Spot on Andy! Started collecting again a year ago - sold up last time around in 2004/05 with a decent number of 'pricey' items in there - did they 'pay me back'? No way. This time, forget chasing the stuff everyone else is after and paying top whack when the tunes are big. I don't go to many events at all, but I'm getting a real kick out of picking up stuff that's not expensive and totally new to my ears.
