Brilliant post Steve as you said at bit younger at the time when you applied pen to paper,warrington was quiet (we used to go there from n.wales) and call into the pattern arms for a quickie before our train arrived for Wigan,because by this time we had transport weather it be car,scoot,or coach organised,musically it was great if you got there after russ and Keith with no disrespect to the later ,as you stated no question,no dancefloor activity you must of gone on a busy night during 1980 I with 3 others boxed yourself off in my Hillman imp and off we set to the famous dump on arrival shock horror call it what you want there was approximately 100 people I cant remember if they even bothered to open Ms that night we arrived about 3 am, I not being a lover of the oldies never enquired to it being opened or not ,I spent the majority of my time in the record bar talking to rod shard & Dave withers and theh were of the opinion they "were not gonna come again ",my personal feelings on this at what kept the cast club going were the once a month oldies which I only went to on the anniversaries and they were packed ,the second opinion which some may or not agree on is that the old school ( wheel ,torch ) got so cheesed off with it plus they were older just stopped going altogether, as I've said great post some brilliant comments ....if it hadn't been for Richard, pat I think it would of shut a lot earlier than it did ,we have the me ories good or bad and no one can take them away from us
