  1. I wasnt having a dig at anybody, however baz did admit to doing it, my question was purely generic. Why take a gamble on ebay when you can do better elsewhere?
  2. I have to agree, shill-bidding is wrong and as has been said before, against e-bay policy. It is quite dis-heartening to actually read somebody admit to doing it, especially on here. Why would you sell something on ebay for 50 quid if you could get more at a venue? Records should start at what you need to cover you costs or set a minimum, simple as that.
  3. Tamiko Jones - Spellbound - Promo Bought from some muppet who thought it was OK to mail it in a record mailer but without any "stiffeners" Still got it and it makes my blood boil every time I look at it.
  4. At a record show in Toronto at the weekend and picked up the From The Vaults album but on the US Natural Resources label. I always thought this was a UK album released to cash in on the Nothern/Motown scene? Any idea of a value? Also picked up Billy Eckstine - I Wonder Why on Canadian Tamla - value?
  5. I have a list of approx 340 soul 45's covering all styles - Northern/R&B/Mainstream/Funk/Deep - nothing rare, just bits and pieces I have lying around. They are $4US each, yes, only $4 each, so email me at knew@branttel.com if you want to see a list. I also have a list of approx 230 albums as well, although this is not priced, so let me know if you would like to see that as well. Kevin
  6. Thanks Steve Whats it like? Got one on hold but hadnt heard of it.
  7. Any one have any info on a 45 by Leola Jiles - Keep It Coming/Why Was I Born - Warner Bros promo copy. I know she was a member of The Apollas but cant find any current pricing for this 45, any help?
  8. I totally disagree with the comments on " Aint No Mountain High Enough ". In the last few months I have sold 3 of these on Canadian Tamla Motown, last one went for $31US Keep playing it!!
  9. I believe I have both the Tamla 45's you are looking for but on Canadian Tamla - yellow label. Let me know if you are interested and I will dig them out.
  10. Pete French (moths in wallet) used to set up full equipment and we had northern nites at the Elm Tree Youth Club, probably 76' - 78'. Also used to do "away" trips to Tewkesbury Youth Club to their Northern nites. Big at the time would have been what ever was big at Wigan.
  11. It was "massive" at The Elm Tree Youth Club, Bishops Cleeve!!
  12. Either way, it doesnt look as nice as the Globes label does it?
  13. Just picked up this album last week, Buddy has a huge Afro on the cover, sat behind a drum set. Was the title track - Them Changes - ever played? It is absolutely brilliant, album comes from 1970? Did it come out on a 45?
  14. I have a Smile company sleeve here if the buyer wants it. I was keeping it for the day I picked up a Norris 45!!!!!!
  15. Bestest, most recentest 50c pick up - Dynells on Atco from Guelph Record Show.
  16. I have one of the White Willie Kindrick ( note spelling ) and always thought it was the White Demo?
  17. "GUYS, TRYING TO CHEER ME SELF UP AFTER THE DISSAPOINTING END TO OUR (WOLVES) FOOTY SEASON," Being a Wolves fan surely you should be used to this by now?
  18. I saw one go through ebay maybe a couple of months ago and I think it got into the 20-25 quid range.
  19. When I lived at home used to have a Lab/Alsation cross called Otis and then when I got married we had a cat called Marvin
  20. Does anybody have any idea where I can get copies of this mag? I had the first 3 before I came to Canada and would like to get some more. What number are they up to now? Thanks Kevin
  21. Yep - it was Play It Loud, just did a search.
  22. Just have also said - first soul album was Motown Chartbusters vol ? - the one with the silver cover?
  23. Slade - cant remember the title but it was the one with Dapple Rose on it?
  24. Is it a boot? Both sides previously unreleased? I bought mine from Voices back in the 80's or 90's?
  25. I have just read this thread and I cant believe the bollocks some people talk. Some body has gone to the trouble of releasing, legally, a major rarity and added a previously unreleased track as well and people are giving him a hard time? Who would begrudge him a couple of quid for the effort? The group, who lets be honest, we all love and all have their 45's in our collections, are getting some recognition for their efforts and you are getting the chance to see them live as well. Neil, or anybody else, could have just pressed up 4 of there released records, as was done when The Dells came over and you would all be complaining about that as well. I for one look forward to adding previously unreleased tracks to my collection and offer my thanks to anybody who goes out of thier way to do this. Instead of making snide comments about this you should be getting upset about the flood of look-a-like bootlegs that are flooding the market at the moment. Keep The Faith?
