  1. Has this one found favour? There were 2 on ebay up until recently that had been there for ages, Moerer had one. Both have now gone. I have 2 copies but the spare is a bit rough. I think he did another on Venture too but could be mistaken.
  2. A very worthy cause. If you PM me some details I will happily make a small donation towards your funds
  3. On the subject of alt versions of Four Tops tunes, Ask The Lonely has been covered a few times over the years. Here's a version by the Fabulous Plaidswhich can be usually be picked up cheaply.
  4. Great artist. I posted Trial Of Love, which was released twice on 45, in the lowrider thread a while ago.
  5. Originally broadcast on Christmas day then repeated on Monday 28th Dec. Now available on iplayer for anyone who missed the show - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03cc4k1#play
  6. You might drop on a copy one ebay.com for £40-£50. Craig Moerer had a quantity and I think they were around $60 but I've not noticed him listing this record recently so they probably all went. I remember hearing it on my local radio station, when Dave Evison had a show late 80's or early 90's, and thinking wow. Coincidentally at the time Tim Ashibende had a copy in his sales box @ £8.
  7. Nice to see Roy Smith played out. Good flip side on that record too. As a side note Roy actually reworked Consider Me A Friend and released it as Stay With Me Tonight on Delphi.
  8. "THANKS for the spin"
  9. Just purchased a spare copy of this 45 so if anyone needs a copy feel free to get in touch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQyfrY_G7js
  10. Both Blacka and Swan offer various choices of colour but here is a link to a cheaper option - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-7-inch-record-flight-case-storage-box-northen-soul-rock-and-roll-FREE-POST-/321909925483?hash=item4af353a66b:g:3YYAAOSwT5tWFowg I cannot vouch for quality but it may be suitable.
  11. Here is a good article on record cleaning using a couple of solutions for anyone interested - https://sites.google.com/site/vincesaudiofiles/
  12. Something New About You was a release in it's own right and is available as a "same sided" promo. Colors Of My Love was the B side.
  13. Not "Dancefloor Destroyers" but I would go fro Ty Hunter / Glass House - I Don't See Me In Your Eyes Anymore on the Invictus label and perhaps Silent Majority - Frightened Girl on Hot Wax. From the Music Merchant label how about The Jones Girls - You're The Only Bargain I've Got which is dance floor friemdly.
  14. Always get mine from Soundswholesale and just about to re-order so hopefully they won't need trimming this time. They're on;y about 2-3mm to big so it would make sense for the manufacturer to just make them a touch smaller if only to save a bit of paper and trim their material costs, if only by a fraction.
  15. New show on BBC Radio Stoke beginning Saturday 6/8/15 at 6pm, after the footy. BBC Radio Stoke 94.6 & 104.1FM, 1503 AM and DAB (12D UTV / EMAP Digital) https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02xbv53
  16. Playing New York Rock Exchange earlier this morning. Prices are all over the place on this one. I've seen a VG copy sell for around £50+ on ebay and better condition list for nearer £100 but not sure if they actually sell at this price. Having said that the copy I bought, which was M- in company sleeve, went through ebay.com twice at $9.99 with no takers before the seller relisted as a buy it now and I bought it with some other things I wanted. I would think about £30 - £40 was fair. I prefer the other side of the disc myself.
  17. Seventh Of May - Boy Am I Happy
  18. Here's a few I had recently - Love Committee - Am I Wasting Time / Heaven Only Knows, Chuck Welch - Sugar To Dirt, this is a spare copy, The Rivingtons - You're Gonna Pay / I Don't Want A New Baby & Charlie "Chuck" Welch - Here I Am Again both sides so I assume it's a promo copy as my "stock" has the excellent Destination Heartbreak on the flip. It should also be noted that Chuck Welch - Sugar To Dirt also has Destination Heartbreak on the flip but it is a totally different take and very poor. Deleted .jpg's as some sort of error occured resulting in multiple repeat posts. Maybe Mods can remove.
  19. Had the same problem with divshare so now use Tindeck. Works in the same way in that you can embed a player in an ebay listing. Worth mentioning that the player will not display on an ipad or iphone but this is no different to the divshare player. I did wonder if it would be possible to use Mixcloud but haven't tried it.
  20. So, having read all of the above, the consensus of opinion seems to be "fine for DJing" = thrashed so does this mean that all the EX/M- records out there are in fact NOT "fine/ok for DJing" and that is why they are never advertised as such............just a thought..........I'll get me coat.
  21. If the playing surface had no issues but the labels had damage or heavy writing etc I would consider that to be a condition which could be said to be "Fine For DJing".
  22. From within ebay Ian buys globally, although whether these purchases end up in his soul packs I have no idea.
  23. I believe that there are still plenty of records out there that appear quite rare if not unknown. The thing is that just because a google search revealed little info is no guarantee of scarcity, Popsike is far from complete and youtube for all the volume of videos on there seems mainly to be people posting the same records, often using the same audio and label scans
