  1. Never mind number 2!! I want to know where the nighter is with the muscley men (pic 3) lol
  2. Brilliant! You would have seen his band members trying to get him off stage then. Bobby would have sang all night had they let him !! I believe there were sound problems at the back of the room, but from where I was standing (at the front, licking distance from him lol) it was incredible & one of the best performances I have ever seen !! Ali
  3. I liked the "I'm done" as well Beautiful song, I think someone on here once said, he could sing the phone directory and make it sound beautiful. Tremendous voice! Thoroughly enjoyed it, he's soo cool :o))))
  4. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little ;o) however, after seeing him perform last year at Blackburn KGH, for near on 3 hours, without a break, at his age, & overcoming prostate cancer, he is quite godly in my eyes :o) x
  5. The anticipation is killing me! I can't wait to see the god that is Bobby Womack :o) Ali

  10. Cool!! I can start giving you abuse then, me being from Leeds You take care too & enjoy Manifesto Ali
  11. I think the last time I saw him was about 9 years ago at one of the Southport Weekender's. Lovely bloke with a lovely lady by his side. Will watch this space Cheers darling Ali xx
  12. Brilliant Dave, will you tell him Alison from Leeds sends her regards to both of them (my memory is coming back now, and I think his girlfriend was called Marie, not Elaine ... but knowing me, it's probably neither ) Cheers Ali P.S If he hasn't got a clue who you're on about, just say, I'm the friend of the girl that Manifesto found a husband for, indirectly, and I'm sure he'll remember. Cheers
  13. Oh my gosh !! What a week it's been Rest in Peace Mr Wilson Sending love & comfort to his family & friends Alison x
  14. Whey hey!! Your postal service is rubbish over there, you should move to the right side of the hills ;o) Happy reading! I know we moan about it, but I've got a feeling we'll still buy, we're addicts lol All the best Ali Edit: just realised you're not from over there, you're from up there :o) Apologies x
  15. Hi Steve I have stopped renewing my subscriptions a couple of times, but it doesn't last long, & I keep getting drawn back in. I'm scared of missing something lol & do buy it for old times sake & I like to see my piles getting bigger :o) If they can start getting the magazine out to me quicker then I'll most likely renew when my subscription is up as, despite the pro's & cons, it's still an alright mag Regards Ali
  16. Del, do you ever see anything of Polly? Haven't seen him or his lovely girlfriend (cant remember her name, Elaine? Welsh girl, great lass) for years & would love to know how they're doing xxx
  17. You're right in a way Jim (& out of date adverts at that!) I can look on back on issue 22 from 1999 and enjoy it, yet I'm not sure I'll be able to look back on issue 137 in 13 years time with the same excitement. Could just be a case of me getting older though
  18. My main bug bear, these days, is the lateness that it is delivered, I mean, why the flip do I want to know about an event that I may have attended on the 22nd September (had I known about it) when I'm actually reading the advertisement for it on the 25th!! Grrrr !! Granted, we have Soulsource to help us out with most events, but that's not the point, and I'm an old fashioned girl & still like to see some events in print. If they can start getting them out sooner, then I'll be happy.
  19. I got mine yesterday Issue 137 August/September 2012 I'm in two minds whether to renew my subscription, as they're more often than not, delivered late
  20. Tragic news Chalky, heard earlier today, but didn't want to believe it, sadly, it's now sinking in that he's gone. Gary was a good bloke, and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. Thinking of Ronnie & their children at this painful time. Rest In Peace Gary My Deepest Sympathy Alison x
  21. Cool !! One of my favourite Motown tunes, just a shame that Morrison's didn't think of the idea first, then it would have been really cool
  22. I'm too upset about this to add anything in great detail at the moment. Have been there since day one, and by god I'll be there for the grand finale ..... with plenty of tissues!! Means the world to me this place, as do all the people who have walked through it's great doors Ali x
  23. What about a simple "The Soul Garage" It does sort of lean more towards "soul" but if you designed your flyers/posters in a way to represent the "garage" element then that may work. I loved "The Boom Boom Room" !! but possibly doesn't cover the "soul" element Good luck, hope you find the right name Ali
  24. I can't like your post Aid, as I've run out of "likes" today so I'll quickly say (before we get told off for going off topic ) I agree with you 100% (especially about Maguire) Also feel Leeds should have tried to use Ryan Hall more. George Gently wasn't so bad after all (for a Sunday night programme), light entertainment which touched on very valid race issues of the 60's Ali P.S. Will PM you about odd the correct shaped balls
