    Was it this ? /index.p...mp;#entry334376

Useful, but remember that the site only shows the highest priced auctions. If a record regularly sells at $20 and some nutjob bids it up at $150 then only the highest value will be registered. The record could then go back to being sold for $20 once a week for the next few years.
  3. Do you have any on Invictus, Hot Wax or Music Merchant ?
  4. It makes sense that the seller also has this auction posted: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...s_promot_widget
  5. The price guides are pretty hopeless to use. Most of the time I read the prices as usd not ukp, at lst then they are of some use. The most accurate prices on cheaper records are when I read them as usd and cut them down 50%. I'd like to see a guide that was put together by two british and two american dealers. That could possibly be a more reliable price guide.
  6. The yellow/black mix is probably just polluted during production. Unless one of the workers were playing around again.
  7. Ended early because of "error" in listing. So James, anything to do with you ?
  8. Thanks ! It's interesting to see how many variations there are. There is so far no indication that the size of the fonts used have anything to do with it being on vinyl or styrene. Your Eloise Laws has big fonts and it's styrene, mine has small fonts and it's vinyl. But the blue logo's are also on vinyl but they have big fonts like your Eloise Laws. Maybe it's not possible to find a rule as to how they look ?
  9. Usps has probably hired a new worker for their international package service. He's a record collector
  10. If you're lucky ! I'm still waiting for a package that was sent surface mail late april. Worst thing is that the seller didnt tell me and charged me like it was airmail
  11. I'm actually considering a return of his silly little book. In shreds. He comes across as a wannabe dictator. That gives him a prominent position on my list of people who I will never deal with again.
  12. I'm happy as long as they're all original It's really strange that they would allow such differences in colour in their logo but I guess that's the way it was before the graphic designers took control Thanks for the help
  13. I've tried asking this question on two forums so far with no result. Help me before I run out of people to ask During my time collecting Music Merchant 45s I've every now and then come across blue logo copies. Someone once told me they were 2nd issues. In a discussion following a recent purchase both the seller and I came to realise that none of us know anything certain about the situation. So, blue logos first or second issues ? Or west- / eastcoast differences maybe? I've looked through all my copies and have found that out of 20 copies (three doubles included): - six are vinyl the rest styrene - two are on blue logo, both vinyl - blue logo has "arp" in deadwax - blue logo deadwax numbers are slightly different (MS 1004 Brotherly Love Mama's little baby (loves lovin')/Bingo 10703PA-11 / 10721PA-3 arp vinyl) (MS 1004 Brotherly Love Mama's little baby (loves lovin')/Bingo 10703PA-15 / 10721PA-8 styrene) So what's the situation with these ?
  14. I don't understand the question.... Every time I buy a record for more than $10 I feel like I've paid over the top for it

I hate to say it but; you're right
  16. "About this time I formed my own group, Gregg Smith and Shades of Brown. I had a lot of very strong players. The Wilson Pickett Band had come through there and broke up. Some of the band members teamed up with me. Willie Gresham was our awesome saxophonist. We would have a couple of days a week when we would have access to the rehearsal hall at the college Arts Center. Before we would even attempt to do a song, each player would have to break down their part on their instrument and then write out the music. This is how we would study. We broke songs down before we even began to play it. We'd analyze it then we'd put it together and rehearse it. We were so tight from that disciplined approach. It taught us so much musically. We were opening for groups like Albert Collins in Oakland, Portland, all around the West coast. I thought I was really on my way then. By the time I got to be about 32, I was opening for folks like James Brown. I did three dates with James. I also began to do a lot of writing about that time." https://www2.1starnet.com/hallv/Honey%20Gro...s_Musicians.htm
  17. https://www.saleomatic.com/WillieGresham.html "At the time, the Midnighters consisted of Hank Ballard, Henry Booth, Lawson Smith, and Norman Thrasher, with a road band that had Cal Green (guitar), Willie Gresham (sax), Pat Patterson (trumpet), Semuel [sic] Evans (bassist), and James Gadson (drums). I'd rather quote myself: "Nothing tickles your balls like funk music does"
  20. Larsc replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
I love funk ! But any funk night that plays non-stop funk will get boring. Gotta have a change of pace now and then.
  21. Thanks. I'd still like to hear if there are any other sources, gemm can be way off when there is only one copy listed.
  22. I'd like to know the going price for Essence - Body Heat on Budweiser 12" if any of you lot have a clue

  25. Most packages I get are 4.50 up to 8.00, but sometimes the odd package has arrived with 3.55 on it. Can't figure out why since they're packed with the same mailer and stiffeners Shipping from Norway is expensive so I often end up shipping with a small loss.
