  1. Agree with you Pete. Though there always been certain sellers trying to get top prices for their rather common stuff and I seriously doubt they ever sold anything on SS
  2. Finally managed to find the time to knock together my very first podcast. It's called "Sounds from the shelter" because my record room is a tiny converted WW2 air raid shelter. For my very first podcast I randomly picked 24 60's Northern 45s from my play/goody box (formerly known as the "DJ box"). Includes all sorts of stuff, from well known classics to lesser knowns and even hardly knowns, from common songs to pretty rare ones. Sandra King - Leave it up to the boys - Bell Bobby Treetop - Wait till I get to know you - Tuff June Jackson - It's what's underneath that counts - Imperial Mike & Ray - If only you knew - Giant Big Don's Rebellion - It was true - Ethon The Sharpetts - Lost in the world of a dream - Sound City Hun's Review - Don't make me love you - Sorro Curtis Smith - The living end - Essica Jimmy Stokes - Keep on goin' - Siana The Precisions - What would you do - Wild The Admirations - Heaven is in your arms - Paree Tony Bruno - How am I gonna make it - Hansa (Germany) Southwind Symphony - Coming home - Glolite The World Column - So is the sun - Tower Linda Jones - You can't take it - W.B. (France) Dave Charles - Ain't gonna cry no more - Donnie Clifford Curry - Ain't no danger - Pama (UK) The Rivieras - You counter feit girl - Riley's The Fiestas - Think smart - Old Town John Westley - You are the one - Corsair Arthur Alexander - Keep her guessin' - Dot Larry Davis - I've been hurt so many times - Kent The M.B.S. - Another day - B-Jet George Freeman - Down and out - Valiant https://soundsfromthe....podomatic.com/ Enjoy it!
  3. Robb, different Jackie Day. It's a guy singing on the Tuff 45 from what I remember.

It was an Alan H spin wasn't it?

  6. "black ship from hell" was the cover up title used back in the 70s, Johnny Adams might have been the cover up artist?
  7. Incorrect links fixed, all audio clips should be ok now.

A friend told me he once met a japanese collector who bought all Shrine 45s as new releases.
  10. I'm sure it's an original. it was a hit for the flip "part time love" so label variations due to different pressing plant runs wouldn't surprise me.
  11. Not correct. Soultown was a legit 60s label. SS might have nicked the label design for some of his pressing though
  12. The lyrics ring a bell. Can't name the track yet but I do know it's rather "friends" instead of "prince". George Smith - I've had it springs to mind but it's not the right one, is it?
  13. so is the first.
  14. LaRose Philips "Wanted" Goldisc
  15. sorry to hijack your sales thread. Never knew the one above was reissued, is this a recent one?
  16. Fats Domino - Packin' up - German Philips (VG++/EX) - £5 SOLD Catchy R&B dancer, very hard to find genuine 1960's german issue. Plays great, check out the sound clip. Audio files recorded from the actual record here. Worldwide postage is £3.10. Within Germany £1.30. Signed for post is £2.00 extra. Paypal only, as gift preferred. Please PM if interested Thanks!
  17. When you look at the scan on Ebay, there's a matrix no. right above the song title. The number is the same as on the US Tabu release so I'd guess it's an US acetate.
  18. At least it sounds like a different mix to the issue (which I used to have). That annoying 'glockenspiel' seems to be not as prominent on the YT version as on the issue
  19. Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - Show me the way - Gordy (EX) £5 Alltime classic Motown, what else is there to say? Martha Carter - Nobody knows - Ron (VG++/EX) £10 SOLD New Orleans R&B. Nice one. Went for double on Soul Source recently. Richard Parker - You're all I need/Got to find a way - C.U.R. (VG+/VG++) £5 Nice crossover double sider.4 clicks and 2 sec's of distortion on a-side and 2/3 clicks on b-side, hence low price. Both sides play EX apart from that. Wilson Pickett - Baby call on me - Double L (EX) £10 SOLD Alltime classic R&B. Fancier label design. Otis Redding/Benny Troy - Loving by the pound/I wanna give you tomorrow - Atco/Delite (NM) £5 Reissue/Bootleg/Pressing/whatever, previously unissued dancer b/w old disco soul fave. Audio files recorded from the actual records here. Can also upload Otis Redding if requested. Worldwide postage is £3.10. Within Germany £1.30. Signed for post is £2.00 extra. Paypal only, as gift preferred. Please PM if interested Thanks!
  20. Martha Carter - Nobody knows - Ron #336 Have it on yellow label with black lettering but seems it also came out on pink label with dark brown or black lettering. Are these just label variations because of different presses or is sort of first and second press thing? TIA Benji
