John Manship Auction Results 7-5-2014
CBS issued 4 records sung in german on Tamla-Motown. "Jonny and Joe" is the most common one. Whoever bought it paid about three times it's real value. well done.

Boss Records Detroit
You're right we don't have any sense of humour. Willy Millowitsch was an actor. Not a comedian.

Marvin L Sims - Get Off Of My Back, Revue
Maybe because eventually folks realised what a great record it is? I'd heard it at many continental europe venues over the years. Each time I thought I'll get a copy one day. Finally bought one last year and it's still among my current favourites. The deep flip is just as good.

John Manship Auction Results 30-4-2014
Correct title is "Why you wanna treat me the way you do". The misspelt title is rarer but not that much rarer than the correct one (IMO)

Obscure - unusual Foreign Releases
Is this a single track 45 or an EP? Only heard of an EP release before. PS: Issue.

Del Royals - Some Kind Of Wonderful - Mercury - Value?
Del Royals - Some kind of wonderful/same - Mercury WD Just bought this blind. But it's not really my cup of tea so I'm going to sell it again. Has anyone any idea of a fair price for it? I googled for it but prices seem to be all over the place, from $25 to 50 UKP. Is 10/15 quid ok? Thanks! Benji

Johnnie Taylor - Friday Night - White Demo ?
I don't have it myself, but I remember seeing a white label demo of the german Stax release many years ago. Maybe this is the one?

Couple Of Boots Wanted For A Mate
Don't think any of them were pressed?

Creations-Say Say Baby Info
I still like the LP. All but one tune (Eddie Hollad- Outside looking in) unreleased. Sound quality differs but most tracks play quite good. My favourite track is Angel Doll by the Temps. PS: Never reached vol.2

Flanny's Pure Dynamite 1
What I heard I sure did. Thing is, I don't really have the time to play podcasts online. I usually download them and put them on my iPod to have some entertainment while commuting. And I'd like to know what I'm listening to hence my request for a playlist.

Flanny's Pure Dynamite 1
Nice one, many thanks! Any chance of a tracklist that I could add to the downloaded mp3 file for my ipod?

Is The Showmen On A Swan Demo Rare
IMO not really that much rarer than the issue. but quite valuable seeing the price for the issue these days.

Come On Now Which Ones The Rarest
I used to dislike Buddy Smith, mostly because of his lisp. But now I think it's a really great record. Very basic production, amateur-ish but so ambitious and soulful, I love it.

Admirations Heaven Is In Your Arms... Value?
Is the other version the one w/out the address underneath "Paree records"?
-
Admirations Heaven Is In Your Arms... Value?
My figures were incorrect, I did it with a ruler where most of the scale was hardly readable. A different ruler says 10mm ballad side and 12mm on the uptempo side. Makes sense, Heaven is 2:40 and My admiration for you is 2:55

Admirations Heaven Is In Your Arms... Value?
Here's a scan of the Heaven side. As you can see paper is not as grainy as on Pete's scan. And it's different toward the middle. As said before I can't explain that in english. (I didn't bother to compare the label's colours as one is a scan and the other one is just a picture of the label)

Admirations Heaven Is In Your Arms... Value?
Pete, labels look different to my original. It's hard for me to explain difference in english. I'll post a scan, that's easier. But what I noticed, run-out groove is about 14mm wide on the Heaven is in your Arms side. and about 10mm on the ballad side. Can you measure the run out groove on your copy?

Picture
It isn't a Banksy. Just a nice stencil mural.

Come On Now Which Ones The Rarest
Timi Yuro is that expensive because it's the only way to get it on legit 45. It's chased by UK 45 collectors and US 45 collectors. Whereas DB is of interest only to the UK posse.

Not that many trophies on auction this week IMO.

Admirations Heaven Is In Your Arms... Value?
Is there anything on the label/in the runout groove of the mispress that's different to the correct press? Or do you literally have to play it to see if it's the Admirations or not?
