  1. J¶rg Brenner...found it in some sort of Humana / Fair Trade second hand shop for a dollar or less indeed. Marc
  2. not that I know (can`t do soundfiles at all ) Marc
  3. In that case do yourself a favour dan mate and make the duo a complete trio: His best by far is "I'll Take My Chance With You" on HIT SOUND Sadly also his rarest
  4. well its quite easy, the hitsound version for the funk floor, the suncut with its nice horns for the soul floor. At least for me
  5. in fact I believe one needs to have both releases. Its actually the deep flipside of the Hitbound that got my attention in the first place and made me focus in this 45 in general when I found the Suncut record. In fact I do believe it -the deep side- almost sounds like a (first) version of Bob Marleys "No Woman No Cry"...I wouldn`t be too surprised if he got his idea from this record...anyway. "One Woman Man" https://sirshambling....percolator.html I have played the Suncut 45 since almost over a year by now at almost every occasion and it always goes down extremely well...and amazingly many people come and continue to come to ask me what and by whom it is by... Great artist Perk Badger aka Mr Percolator ! Marc
  6. mmh, can`t think of any of my guest DJ´s who has not thanked me be it private or in public for a great night, hospitality etc. . This includes al ot of England`s top DJ`s who I am certain are not desperate to DJ in any way. Quite the opposite in fact as I am the desperate person to get them over. And it does take some time and talking in certain cases LOL. So I believe its simply called politeness. Most of the promoters will already have expressed their thanks at the end of the night ie long before a review will be published on the internet. At least I do every time I have guest DJ` s. By saying/expressing "thank you" to the promoters on the net DJ`s will most of the time just use the chance to express their happiness to have had a great night deejaying at a fantastic place, to fantastic people etc...maybe even abroad. At least I do. But I am with you in that it has become a bit inflated indeed...as nowadays every night seems to have been "fantastic"..."and it was fantastic to have been asked to dj to a fantastic crowd etc"...when in reality it was just he promoter an his ten best buddies sitting togehter listening to some 45s played out while enjoying the latest smalltalk and having a pint... which again also can in some cases be very much "a fantastic night" LOL Marc
  7. Obviously too hard a nut to crack so I inquired with a dealer. He knows about WDs off-center and jumping WDs not jumping plus Issues jumping issues non jumping Some of these issues are distorted soundwise. Non jumping issues seem to be the rarer form though non of the mentioned releases is obviously easy to get by..
  8. out of interest..please correct me when I am wrong, but so there are WDs jumping WDs off center WDs playing thru fine Issues jumping and off center (first rel.) Issues not jumping (sec. rel.) ? If that is correct, obviously the non jumping later released issues would be the one most desirable ? Marc
  9. made a typo by the way...shoudl read roy roberts experience stop (watch what you are doing to me) linco xx
  10. yes, the instrumental version I am currently playing is to be found on the flipside
  11. In my actuial playlist and I am sure I will play it this sat at Boomerang too.
  12. Fantastic read. I will forward this to my friend Odell Jones of the Steptones...he did not remember to have cut "I`ll Never Forget You" when I first asked him about it. Marc
  13. If you are talking about the Austrian (Soul Mafia) Bootleg, that was done 2002/3. I still remember going mad at the guy when he while visiting the Hip City told me he was going to boot said record. I was offered a Hamilton Movement last year for over 2K which was why I declined although I agree its a fantastic Soul record and I still love it. But yes, definitely hammered to death me thinks. Marc
  14. which if I remember right I helped you selling to a fellow soulie overe here in Berlin as I was too stint at the time to buy it myself. Sth. I still regret up to today as its the last Diamond Jim record missing. Marc

Only on the issue, the demo (which is even rarer) states "Soul Brothers Six". Old spin of mine that I gave a spin two weeks ago at VaVaVoom to a good response. I sold a spare last year to a very good friend of mine for around 250 UKP. Flipside features one of the very very best deep Soul tunes (in my collection).

What is even more interesting is the fact that this copy seems to have found its way from fluid Thailand to sunny Florida without having seemingly belonged to one of the group members whereas all copies before and in circualtion came from the group except for the very first one Shifty once turned up (and sold to Soul Sam who then sold it on to Tim Brown) and the two copies previouly on ebay (with the first being the one butch bought). Amazing really I must say bearing in mind the small quantity and the history of the record.
  17. if you don`t find one you might as well check out Curtis Smith The Living End on Essica as some issues do feature (miss-titled) exactly said song on the reverse...and I would be very much surprised if both artists were not one and the same person.
  18. John, thanks, except for # 3 all had been done in a limited 250 copies edition only, so maybe you are right..who knows, only time will tell ; )
  19. Hi Nocker, I started releasing anniversary records only just in 2003 and since then its been a new anniversary record every two years so the list so far goes like this: Del Capris Speak To Me Of Love # 1 Sensations Demanding Man # 2 Little Stanley The Stran / Third Wish You Gotta Believe In Thine Yourself # 3 JJ Barnes Everytime I See You I go Wild / Rita Wirght Where Is The Love # 4 Thanks for the appreciated interest and I hope you enjoy the 2009 anniversary record..personally think its brilliant
