  1. Appologies for the belated enrty, but hopefully of interest to some, this was a great afternoon/ evening of across the board soul that continues our ethos of openmindedness on the decks, if its on a genuine pressing it gets played, cheap underplayed and rare ( though we usually rely on guests to accomodate this.) We had a couple of excellent guest's, two local lads Paul and Genuine soul Virgin, Simon, who played blinding spots focusing on the classics. Geese, early spot, 4.30 till 5.10ish, underplayed, new aquisitions and a few classics. Alfreda Brockington- your love has got me chained........ Jeanette Williams- Stuff Margie Hendrix- One room paradise Superiors- I'd rather Die Detriot Execs- Cool off Tony Hestor- Going to a happening Fabulous Emotions- Funky Chicken Little Jewel- I want to Benny Mahon - She knows how King Floyd- Walking and thinking Isley Bros- who's that Lady Jackie Lee- Darkest days Later spot 7.30- 810ish (oldiesfest and requests) Isley Bros- why when the love..... Four tops- something bout you Frankie Valli- ready now Tony clarke- Landslide seven souls- I still love you Nolan Porter- If only I could be sure Jodi Mathis- I dont care anymore Patti and the Emblems- love you a long, long time Exciters- Blowin' up your mind Maxime Brown- one in a million Maxime Brown- Let me give you my loving.

also thought the scene lost a lot of young devotees to the upcoming house/rave scene
  19. Personally I believe there seems to be a whole generation of 40 somethings that aint on the scene at the mo for family or other reasons, who were into in the 8ts and 9ts, so I feel that at some piont in the future many will return once more to relive there youth. I was also suppried to see many younger faces @ the last kings hall nighter, but would be even more impressed to see some fresh faces @ the, lets say, more cutting edge nighters and soul nights.
  20. Superb, where and when will the doc be screaned?
  21. totally unrelated to the sale mate, but I heard Led Zep used to do this in there early shows! no recording of it though.
  22. A few more that sat @ Bidds reminded me of, I'm sure that neither were first played @ Keele but they will always be associated with the place for me. Wilson Picket- Let me be your boy (played @ Bidds) Freddie Houston- Soft Walking (purchased @ Bidds)
