You obviously thought the price was a mistyped £20.00 instead of £2000 Keith
  2. I personally prefer to hear a good mix of all styles in one room....as long as there are a good percentage of fresh or underplayed tunes. Of course, not everyone will like every tune, or genre for that matter, but nobody will ever enjoy all the tunes played in one main room allnighter anyway so what's the difference. At least it gives folk a chance of hearing something they may not normally get the chance to hear cus they don't want to wander from the main room, or don't believe they will enjoy anything being played in the R&B/Modern rooms. I can understand specialised allnighters (ie R&B/Modern etc) catering for those just wanting to hear that specific genre all night, but surely if the music played is of decent enough quality it deserves to be played to a larger audience. Besides which, certain tunes cross the bounderies anyway, so you still get R&B played in main rooms (ie Ray Agee/Hayes Cotton/Gwen Davis/Lavern Baker etc) and then you get the minority moaning that R&B is being played in the main room when there is another designated R&B room.....not to mention those who would argue Ray Agee and Hayes Cotton et al are Northern records...not R&B records... I'm no big fan of Modern, but I'm sure its a similar situation. Imagine if this split room policy was adopted and strictly adhered to all those years ago...how many great R&B and Modern tracks would have fell by the wayside as they had lacked the exposure of being played by the main room DJs to the larger audience. A classic example is Rufus Lumley Minneaplis' Minnesota, a record Johnny Beggs started to champion at the Steam allnighters in Crewe, to a very small and limited audience. Its now a floorpacker for Flanny at Middleton, but could have so easily been overlooked and left in the hands of collectors rather than getting it's deserved spins to a larger audience. There are plenty of great R&B records that suffer the same fate, and of most other genres as well, cus they get played in add on rooms to limited audiences. Just my opinion like.....
  3. Linda Couldstone put me onto it a while ago and I picked a few up a couple of years ago. Pt 2 on the flip is better if I remember correctly. Pretty sure I got told that he played every instrument on the track? Value about £30 - £40 but it is quite hard to find. Regards Mace
  4. Have another pop at it Linda.....one on ebay right now... https://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Northern-Soul-45-...tem280209770699 You'll have to start at $1200 this time though if you wanna be in the running...
  5. Was his ID Teenwopper or something similar. He sent me a few emails about 3 years ago, moaning at me cus I outbid him on a 2 or 3 copies of the same record within a few days....I won them all for $10 or less so told him to bid higher or stop whinging. He sort of apologised and we ended up swapping CDs but I had a similar experience to your own, with receiving predominately teen orientated CDs.
  6. Yeah, I've had the Pilma one in the past. Got both Colpix 45s but not up for selling the one you want...think Nige Brown had one for sale a few months back. See ya at Bidds mate (if you remember to introduce yourself ) Regards Mace
  7. He also did another one on Colpix 'Here is one' b/w 'You oughta been there' which are both decent tracks. 'What a mess' is deffo the best of the bunch imo.
  8. Paid £60 for a mint copy of Gene Chandler minter from Des Parker about 4 months ago. Both versions are quality tunes, but Gene Chandlers is the better imo.
  9. You know me far to well
  10. I beg to differ... https://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/...stract/54/2/216

I 've got a Classmen, and pretty sure a copy of the Carltons somewhere. Both in Ex cond. PM me with what you are looking to pay for both if interested. Regards Mace
  16. Sylvia Symms version is loads better imo
  17. I have an issue, which is obviously a proper one.... In deadwax is a handscribed matrix F-45-1392-1 with F-45-1393-1 on flip. Deadwax is approx 16mm wide from edge of label to last groove. Not seen the boots in the flesh, so not sure on deadwax/matrix info. Regards Mace
  18. Muliticoloured label is much rarer than the yellow label...you should get a right good price on this
