Dealers Of 78's
My arse..... Funny thing at last Hideaway - Damian had a copy of Jo Ann Henderson in his box for £200. Merv and Paul Bennet turns up and I says to Damian....watch this, I bet one of these 2 buy that tonight. I turn to Merv and Paul and says....You guys sure Rose Mitchell is better tha Jo ann Henderson then, and both nod there heads accordingly and echo 'Oh yes' similar to the Churchill dog . So I says - shame that, cus Damian has a Jo Ann Henderson for sale in his box but I suppose neither of you guys are bothered about it then. Paul couldn't get his cheque book out quick enough....

Dealers Of 78's
Hang around any decent allnighter after 4.30 a.m. and Rob Smith will normally be on his way in... The Jo Ann Henderson is a hard one on 78 mate. Big Maybelle 'I got a feeling' is on 78 as well I believe. Think Kitty White was on ebay on 78 t'other week. Got a 78 on my wall on Okeh by Sophie Tucker called Aggravatin' Papa - can't play it as aint got player with 78 speed...sounds shite at 45 though...

Johnny Taylor - Rome (wasn't Built In A Day)
Yep - this was released on SAR (Sam Cookes Label) I've got one for sale somewhere if anybody interested. It was written by Sam Cooke and was also released by him on an album. Also a version by Ann Shelton on U.K. Phillips.

Old School V Modern
Hear Roy Hamilton out quite a bit (big Hideaway tune). Barrett Strong was played a lot on the Mod scene in the late 80s early 90s. I have personally played them both at Alsager Civic...great tunes.

Postage Costs
Have had this a few times and been charged $10 or similar for shipping. Usually when record arrives it is packed in a large box with loads of packing and has actually cost the seller $9.55 or similar so seller wasn't making any extra profit just packing over the top to ensure package arrives safely. Would prefer that and receive item in one piece, that some of the sellers who charge $4 and send in a jiffy bag or envelope with no stiffeners ...had one this week - record broke in half even though I asked on email 'please pack well and sturdy in rigid cardboard mailer/box' !!!! If you've had a bargain off ebay and it arrives in one piece with less postage costs than you paid for, complain to seller afterwards - least you've got the 45 at a decent price at that point.

Bootleggers Using Recent Flyers
Well I drew every bit of my flyer by freehand...even the sax player (which is just very slightly different in design than the one used by a certain record label and record dealer in the past) so I'm in the clear....

End Of An Era - Soul Shack To Finish On Solar Radio
Richard, can't actually help with the ticket print run as such but do know a print company that will print 600 x 3 stub numbered tickets with foil security logo and your artwork/logo for about £70 (inc postage)...might even have been slightly less. Although not exactly cheap, the reason I've mentioned it is that you can actually have them done with 2 different sets of events info so you get 2 lots of 300 tickets, seperately numbered, for each event. I'm not planning on using tickets for the Solar Event I'm hoping to do for Mark, but if you can find somebody else who needs 300 tickets for an event you will only pay about £35 each. P.M. me if you need any more details. Mark, let me know if other events dates are sorted and I will check events calender to see if I can fit Bidds Solar night in before November? Regards Mace

Trends / If You Don't Dig The Blues / Abc
£15 ....won't mention 'Thanks for a little lovin' by them then.... Esko Wallace is an acquired taste without doubt...but also had some good feedback about that one from others on the list...one mans meat is anothers poison so they say

Coral Records
It was Romance Watson and his other track on Coral is 'Come a little closer'. As for 'Where does that leave me' there is also a fairly decent version by Nancy Wilson on Capitol which should only cost about £15.

Big Top Label
I once had a male version of "It'll never be over for me" and I'm sure it was on Bigtop. Can't remember artist but it wasn't a great version by any stretch of the imagination. I sold it to Nige Shaw about 4 years ago, as he was collecting different versions of the track at the time.

Big Top Label
T'is a popcorn tune - Roger Banks used to spin it. Also came out on U.K. London...a mate of mine has a nice U.K. orange demo....
