Claims Against Royal Mail
Joe, I'm pretty sure you can send cash insured and get payed out for it if it goes missing. Remember something similar happened to Linda (miss-popcorn) and when she claimed they asked for proof that she had withdrawn the said amount of cash from her bank account. Sent a substantial amount of cash about 6 months ago, and enquired with Royal Mail at time, who said it was okay to send and insure.

Hmv Pop 1003 Jo-ann Campbell I Changed My Mind, Jack / You Made Me Love You 1962 Uk
Did I??? Can't remember bidding on one recently.... Then again I bid on loads of stuff but I forget a lot cus I use esnipe.....just missed out on The Empires tonight after bidding over £1,650 so can't be that tight you cheeky tw*ts As for the Jo-ann Campbell, got my first U.S. copy a few years ago...remember mentioning to Roger Banks who looked at me in disbelief when I mentioned artists name Missed a U.K. one on ebay about 18 months ago...think it only fetched about £6 but I forgot to bid. Was selling them on U.S. for about £25 - £40 last year, so probably did only bid about £20 on a U.K. one. Anyway Mik lad...stop nosying at what I am up to on ebay...can't expect you to stay far enough behind me if you keep peeping at my bids...

What Is The Meaning Of The "ns Black Fist"?
Two points about this post that made me smile.... First, that you would let anybody know that you once had a pink scooter... Secondly, that at the end of your list of weapons to be thrown at your Pink Vespa, you list... 'Bricks, broken bottles, and sticks' Wondered if this was deliberate, or were you playing owt by Dean Parrish as you typed this...

Helen Troy - I Think I Love You
Had all 3 releases of Little Annie, and found sound quality pretty much similar on all 3 (though lower on E.P) Played Helen Troy off E.P. in past (though not played it out for quite a while) and did not find volume a problem, other than increasing volume slider on mixer to compensate, then returning to previous setting for next record.
-
Helen Troy - I Think I Love You
Is it true that the quality is actually better, though lower (as L.P.s supposedly)??? Got the Helen Troy on E.P. and had the Anna Belle Caesaer Vegara E.P. which I sold to Hoss, who sold on to Carl Willingham. Don't actually collect pic sleeves E.P.s etc myself, so will usually sell them on to some-one who actually appreciates them if I can replace with normal issue / demo 45s, but not because of sound level.
-
Helen Troy - I Think I Love You
Heard this comment regarding this and a other various E.P. releases, and whilst true, I don't see the problem....you simply increase the volume control (whether DJing or playing at home)?????????????????? This is a serious reply, not a pisstake....just wondered why it is an issue with some people? If the quality of the sound gets distorted if increased I could understand it????

The Mod Scene Today
Ted, thought by your reply in the Suedehead thread that besides being a soul boy all your life, that you had also been a suedehead at some point (quote post 11 from Suedehead thread below) ..........'well i am sorry, but us lot in the north east, did not have girl haircuts like those shown, suedhead by definition was a cut slightly longer than a skinhead, hence suedhead, felt like suede to the touch etc etc, clothing not the way i dressed,(dog tooth check jacket, levi staepress, ben sherman shirt, oxford shoes, red pocket hankey with tie pin) do you get the picture ? no girly haircuts.'............ The Suedehead and Mod scenes ain't a million miles apart, stylewise, and musically I think you well know that the Mod scene is far more diverse than the limited appeal of the Who. Also the soul scene benefits from more young blood joining this scene than from anywhere else - a high percentage of the 30 - 40 year olds on the present Northern Scene have originated from the Mod scene. Plus, like it or hate it, the Northern Scene evolved from the original 60s Mod scene....fact. By the way - do you know of Stu Wilkinson and Dave Snowdon??? 2 great guys from the North East who were on the Mod Scene many moons ago..I know they were into Northern as well.....not seen either for many years now.

Value-johnny Hunter - If The Things.... Liberty
Worth a lot, lot more than £75. Easy £200+ nowadays. I've had 3 copies in last 2 years and sold the spares for £200+ both times without having to even advertise it. One sold on ebay this week, was wrongly advertised as Johnny Fuller on both title and description with a starting bid of $6 and no mention of Popcorn, R&B or Northern soul in listing. Still reached a decent price.

Dj Spots - Forecasts Against Actuals
Oi, less of the tiny....Tiny.....
-
A Few Wants
Try dabbing stickers on label with some hot water on end of cotton bud until top layer removes (almost rolls off when wet) A tiny amount of nail varnish remover applied in same way helps remove remaining sticky residue...... ....usually....

A Few Wants

Dj Spots - Forecasts Against Actuals
Gotta disagree with the general idea of planning a spot....whether mentally planned or written down. Also cannot understand how anyone would have a definite tune to open their set with, because surely it depends on what the last DJ plays so as to keep a flow to a busy floor, or to change course if being left with an empty floor? Also what happend if previous 3 DJs have played all the tunes from your pre-planned spot??? Flip 'em over and play the Bsides??? Not saying you don't have tunes you wanna play, or prefer to play, or know are safe floor fillers. Not even denying that some records seem to sit perfect after each other, so if you play one, you automatically wanna play the other.....but only if it works in the set and suits the venue/crowd.
