  1. Brilliant record-always playing it -but what about Joe Hinton's stuff as well Rob
  2. Best time to do River's is a Sunday Morning-opens at 10.30 am I think. Echo all the above statements regarding the owner, he's "Cocky" when you walk in and you can see the $ signs in his eyes.Talk to him and he softens up! So who was it on here-3 of you-that spent a FULL WEEK doing the whole store without realising he's got John's books & all price guides behind the counter I like the computer in the cupboard behind the counter on which he lists all his E-bay stuff--mainly picked out by "Brits". He's actually OK when you've seen him a few times and opens up. Last in there 18 months ago for a couple of hours,on a sunday, John Gary Williams "Crazy" x3 @$6 each, 5 Wagers "Ask" 5 @$4 each , first issue Brenda Holloway "When I'm gone"-$6 plus a hand full of Stax & Volt things--everythings MINT-I spent 2 hours and $100 (£50) and was well happy. He even bought me a Soda ! You just have to "Play the game" Rob
  3. Bargain ! now to just find out who grabbed it answers on a post card please Rob

  9. Died and went to heaven 2.30 am Sunday morning. Melba Moore, 3 feet in front of me, 11 piece band and THE MAGIC TOUCH, word and note perfect F*%$ing incredible ! Even Ady had a tear in his eye ! Here she is in full flight ! Rob & Karen
  10. Paul McCartney owns the Quarrymen Acetate after buying it at auction (as a "Secret ID bidder"), Mark Bicknell knows something about this as he had a family connection with The Beatles, via his dad Alf. I'm sure Paul paid £20,000 to £25,000 at a major auction house Christies /Southerby's for the disc which turned up in Liverpool in the 1990's. He bought it mainly to keep it away from the hands of Beatles "Bootleggers", who could have easily made ££££££'s from issuing the song as there is no publishing copywrite control on the disc. The recording was made at a church fate or somthing like that and was very personal to the band members. We've all seen cash change hands for records in secret deals and rumours of price, but unless the auction or sale is in a public forum, then it will not get into the RECORD books! No doubt Frank Wilson will continue to hold a "Top Spot" or at least a top 5 position at the end of this week ! Rob
  11. By the way this is why it was being smashed. Not for the faint-hearted
  12. Now being a great fan of Family Guy-this was a great episode "I dream of Jesus" 702 Where Peter visits "Dead Format Records" to buy "Surfin' Bird" which is annoying the whole family... Stewie & Brian steal the record and smash it--it got me thinking-whats the one you'd give this treatment to ? ">
  13. neil/Ady Richie Pitts speaks very highly of Jackie lee and has mention he worked with Bob & Earl several times in the late 60s/ early 70s. he's away on holiday at the moment ,but I'll be with him at a private gig next weekend and see what I can find out Rob ps see You friday Ady

  18. This is SERIOUS stuff however there is a small charge of 50p so we are able to validate all your details. So I presume you'll refund the Winners 50p John Rob
  19. Shag-the movie-priceless But the "Souled out" film has to be given a chance, it's not a documentary it's a 95 min bit of fun with a Northern Soul theme. Sure your views will be misrepresented and exaggerated, it's the media does to make things "appeal" to the masses We will go with an open mind. We loved "Once upon a time in Wigan" which touched on something's you just take for granted-can you imagine walking up to someone and saying "can I have a look at your box?" in a night club How very dare you! So lets wait and see should I see if we can get another advance showing at Bridlington in the 900 seat theatre there at The Spa ? I bet it would be PACKED ! Rob
  20. Sounds good Carl
  21. It depends what you are selling 1 record sold for £20 and I'd ask for £2 1st Class recorded and £5 for Special delivery- it wont cover the actual cost but is a healthy contribution. 2 or 3 records and over £100 sold I'd pay the postage anyway for the buyer as a thank you ! I've bought a couple of things recently and the sellers have paid the post (Thank you!) as Tescos say "Every little helps" Rob
