  1. Great post need another name though, right-wing soulies is not really appropriate
  2. Another stereotype, I didn't take any gear at Wigan for the first 18 months I went and I loved the instrumentals and the stompers, you can't blame drugs for everything, the records are great with or without speed.
  3. At 11.15 where it says Here you are then - the instrumental of Exus Trek is a hundred times better than the vocal version.
  4. Duh...I already posted about this one about 10 posts previously
  5. Can't agree. Bari Track is the best inrtumental ever and is as better than the vocal version...the old question, can an instrumental be soulful...who f*cking cares when they are this good
  6. heard the vocal?
  7. Do you think you would have liked Wigan?
  8. It's not a soul record. It's a northern soul record.
  9. Well it has the worst name for a soul magazine ever, so, yes!
  10. Agree with you...
  11. If I'm a bit slow here, I'm sorry, but can someone tell me what Jimmy has done to be put in jail please?
  12. Here you are then - the instrumental of Exus Trek is a hundred times better than the vocal version.
  13. Of course! Sparked by jealousy at being born to late you reckon?
  14. On this forum, yes, apparently
  15. You lot never cease to amaze me. Afternoon Of The Rhino was THE northern instrumental, it's still one of the best ever.
  16. I've been doing this for a few years, as well as using a scalpel to push the scratch back in - but it's hit and miss, only succesful about 1 in every 5 times..for me anyway
  17. Well you know what Ali, I can play anything so tomorrow I think I will do a punk and new wave 1976-1981 show no, really...
  18. It's working now folks
  19. Sorry don't know what section to put this in.. SKA A GO GO Can someone have a listen and see if it's working? You have to download their player but it's a good one and you can choose to listen only to the radio broadcasts, you don't have to use it for anything else https://pirateradionetwork.com/ that's the link then you have to go down the stations to MUSIC and I put it under alternative because it was near the top it's called SKA A GO GO Thanks - just need to know what it sounds like Pete
  20. Are you se3rious?
  21. Been issued twice; once on an anniversary single, and a couple of years ago it was pressed up by the same people who did Johnny Watson and that Towanda Barnes thing.

No way is this worth more than 125 (granted, the white demo is tough)...these retailed at £3 when Soul Bowl bought up the entire stock. I'm not exagerrating when I say I've had at least 15 copies in the last 5 years without going looking for them; they usually come in collections and people think they are pressings. I remember Kev Spittle was going to sell me that, plus The Ringleaders which also turned up in huge quantity, for £3 each as he thought they were boots; being an honest chap, I told him to keep them

  24. It's super rare mate, trust me, see topic elsewhere where I got Matt's own copy off him. No way was this a local hit.

I can't believe what I'm reading here. When I first started hearing northern records at the youth club, this was a monster, just pressed on the OOTP label (so us 13/14 year olds could hear it) and an absolute monster tune. Kitchen sink production, great vocal, what more do you lot want? It emphasises all that was GREAT about Northern Soul.
