    It's not Diana Ross though...
  4. SKA FEVER LIVE 45 MIX The title is a little misleading as there is a mix of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae on this mix, but it refers to the blazing Ska section in the middle of the set. This is another one I did live from 45's and I apologise in advance for the sound quality on a couple, especially The Uniques, it wasn't until I'd already started playing it that I realised it sounded like bacon sizzling. The mix officially ends with Yama Way but it does continue in a similar style. (For some reason I've had problems with sound interference on this when converting it so if it doesn't sound right, I'll delete it from Mixcloud) THE GRADUATES - WAY OF LIFE THE KINGSTONIANS - YOU DON'T REMEMBER ME DENNIS ALCAPONE - THE CONQUERER BIG WILLIE - COLLEGE ROCK AUSTIN FAITHFULL & THE HIPPIES - AIN'T THAT PECULIAR THE GAYLADS - IF YOU KNEW BORIS GARDINER - BOBBY SOCKS TO STOCKINGS I ROY & KEN PARKER - GREAT, GREAT, GREAT HOPETON LEWIS - COOL COLLIE THE MELODIANS - COME BACK GIRL LEE PERRY - YOU CRUMMY SLIM SMITH - NEVER LET GO THE UNIQUES - OUT OF LOVE THE UPSETTERS - MY MOB THE SKATALITES - DOCTOR RING DING SLIM SMITH & PRINCE BUSTER - THE PROPHET THE ZODIACS - RENEGADE THE SKATALITES - CLEOPATRA THE SKATALITES - MISS SKA CULATION THE SKATALITES - RUSSIAN SKA FEVER BUSTERS ALL STARS - JET 707 CARL BRYAN - COOL HAND LUKE AUSTIN FAITHFULL - I AM LOSING YOU THE CRYSTALITES - SLIPPERY THE KINGSTONIANS - PUT DOWN YOUR FIRE MILLICENT PATSY TODD - GIVE ME A CHANCE SIR SCORCHER & THE BLACK EMERALDS - RECORD BREAKER ALTON ELLIS - I'M JUST A GUY TOMMY McCOOK - BUTTERCUP THE WAILERS - HYPOCRITES THE GAYLADS - LOOKING FOR A GIRL MARCIA GRIFFITHS - MARK MY WORD SHORTY - YAMA WAY & SOME BONUS TRACKS https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/ska-fever-live-45-mix/
  5. Whoever bought my UK Columbia Jane Hillery "You've got that hold on me" has a perfect set of my first daughter Jessica's teethprints from when she was 1 year old (1990) I opened it, left it on the table, next thing I know she's crawling around with it in her mouth
  6. It would have been if you'd bought it off me last year, I sold the issue and the demo for £75 each. Or less. Issue is ten times rarer than the demo. I've had two issues and five demos. Was it a good buy? I'm sure the buyer is happy. that was the second issue I sold, first one was £60, can't find the list with the demo on
  7. There was no label in England called Parrot. Parrot was a USA label which licensed in stuff from UK Decca and Deram.

That's what I thought but it started to grate a bit, I used: Shorty - Yama way Joe White - President rock Tommy McCook - The new president (aka halfway tree pressure) Shorty - President mash up the resident The straight instrumental version Heptones - Give me the right Uniques - Conversation I think those are all the ones I have on singles, coming next, 20 versions of You Don't Care rhythm. Sorry to take this off topic-ish
  9. I don't get the Bowie Jagger reference but I have to say that the girl with the skinhead cut is stunning and I enjoyed the film.
  10. That Inticers is a criminal waste of vinyl.

Tim I think some of my listeners might disagree when I put last night's podcast up - it was a normal, mixed ska-rocksteady-reggae mix for 90 minutes then for some reason I had a "Conversation Orgy" and played seven different versions of Conversation
  12. There's now a giant Tesco just one mile away from Wollaston Nige. Apart from that, still the same, except Yummies kebab shop in Stourbridge changed hands and now it's rubbish. Well at least you may be seeing your team soon when they line up against Plymouth
  13. There's a Jamican red / white as well. Or is that white / red.
  14. The Loser is identical on Jamaican and UK Island (and Trojan). There are stacks of 'stringed up' UK versions, the best being Pat kelly - How Long Will It Take.
  15. Sounds miles better than living in Wollaston! My Nan used to collect old postcards, when she died my Mum 'inherited' them, there are hundreds and hundreds of them at her house, but what makes one vintage postcard collectable and one not? Second thoughts, don't answer that, it's bad enough with matrix numbers!
  16. White would be a demo mate so yellow probably harder.
  17. On British? Doubtful? Two different releases on JA Studio One - probable?
  18. Considering some are only worth £15...
  19. You have got to be kidding?
  20. Have to agree, he's a pop singer. WWAW is a great record but the Timi Yuro oozes soul compared to it.
  21. £125. Well that's what I sold one for recently.

You know these podcasts I do? Northern ones, Ska ones etc...well I know many of you have listened to one or two. Well you may think the track list is either random or very meticulously planned out, but actually every one is done via it's BPM, so they usually start off with fast dancers and slow down as they progress.
  23. No he thinks the praise was made up
  24. I'd just give it up if I were you Russell. Then I would go on Facebook and post everything you've been through on this deal and make sure it's posted in every record selling group and to all your friends. I've done this before when someone stiffed me with a bootleg of The Triumphs which he swore was original. Within 2 hours he was crying for me to remove the posts. A few weeks later, he sold the record to someone else but by then it wasn't my problem.
