  1. And never seen in the same place as Dinah Lee at the same time either No I was wrong, Dinah Lee was from New Zealand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinah_Lee https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Pattie
  2. There's another version by Dinah Lee on UK Aladdin, she was an Australian singer.
  3. Rubbish. I like Danny Monday though.
  4. Must be getting near that long since I saw them, Brighton Dome, support act James. Though I'm not a fan now by a long chalk...
  5. Would hate to hear the worst on the label if that's the best! Pedestrian 60's soul sounding like a million other records. Suppose it's rare though so that's alright.
  6. I really liked "That Thing" by Lauren Hill when it came out. That was pretty soulful.
  7. I'll do 10% off anything left now...
  8. Yes, I love them (no!)
  9. No new replies since the end of November but this one deserves mentioning, apparently Prince Buster - Judge Dread..yuk
  10. One probably has the 'sold in the uk' printing on the centre and later ones leave it off
  11. Don't think it came out twice on Stateside in 66, doesn't make sense. London demo, Stateside r & w demo, repromoted issue in 69 with it's green & white demo, and it was still on catalogue in the early 70's.
  12. They must have thought Monk was mistake and corrected it without checking, making the issue the real misprint.
  13. Liz Lands R.I.P View full article
  14. Just to say have added some new records to the blogsite, not had time to do reviews but most have soundclips, there should have been 20 or so but my camera battery ran out! new additions are: PACESETTERS - ESCORT PIONEERS - AMALGAMATED ETHIOPIANS - CRAB JOHNNY DIZZY MOORE - SKA BEAT PRINCE BUSTER - BLUE BEAT GAYLADS - DOCTOR BIRD SWEET CONFUSION - ESCORT ROSCO - TROJAN KEN BOOTHE - CALTONE DENNIS ALCAPONE - DUKE DERRICK MORGAN - PYRAMID GENE RONDO - DOWNTOWN https://lostvinylgemsofthe60s.blogspot.co.uk/
  15. Just as a p.s. to this topic, I didn't win the copy above as it went for £90 or £100. I bid on another copy of the same record last night and won it for £21
  16. I have no opinion of it, I just remembered someone posting this a few years ago so I was just re-posting it. But of the actual record - just prefer the original version on the Dore single, don't like the versions with the extra verse.
  17. And another one
  18. Utterly useless version...
  19. Yes I've got two similar but hold 100 to 125 I think, and they open from the side not the front, someone else asked me this, I'll dig one out and photo it
  20. No that was the last one, it was the first one I was talking about really, I Got My Own Thing Goin'.
  21. Don't worry, I recorded them
  22. Birmingham group, this is on Fontana I think, remember the A side being one of the worst records I've ever heard ("Ebanezer")
