  1. I'd have stuck 100 on it. having said that, I tried 100 with a mint WD of it recently and ended up selling it for 75 - issue is twice as rare as demo though
  2. Is that a black issue Paul, if so it's way underpriced...
  3. Rarest thing I ever found at a boot sale was the Tintern Abbey single on Deram, I knew it was rare but this was pre-price guides, that kind gent Mick Smith relieved me of it for something like £20. It's currently worth a grand. Found a Frankie & Johnny on Decca on the exact same stall 2 weeks later, that was a quid, no centre but was fine. I got the Artwoods LP for 50p from another boot sale in St leonards, wow that was a long time ago, 1989 or 90, same day I got the Julians Treatment LP on Youngblood. Got a Downliners Sect LP about 4 years ago. Got a Guitar Ray on Shagg out of a shop in Dudley for 30p three years ago. Sadly I can't remember the last time I found anything decent at a boot sale, probably because I'm too f*cking lazy to get out of bed on a saturday or sunday morning.

It really is very, very simple to learn how to spin. If you're right footed: stand with feet together, then wrap your left leg round the back of your right leg so that your feet are together but on opposite sides, if you see what I mean. Then push off with the left foot in an anti clockwise direction and immediately go up onto your toes. Now you're spinning. Oops, now you've crashed into the table! But thats how you do it.

  12. On that Jools Holland clip she sounds like the fantastic Mrs. Miller
  13. I hope they don't do a reggae price guide, you seen the prices they sell them for? Never has so much coffee been spluttered over a computer screen. There aren't any current price guides, a guy from Macclesfield bought one out about 10 years back but obviously thats redundant now. You can't go by popsike either because 50% of the prices are bumped up by fake bidders. There's a fantastic discography called Roots Knotty Roots, it's a database which you could buy on cd, contains both Jamaican and UK releases and you can search by artist/title/label/number/matrix. Not sure this is available in the shops anymore, it was expensive when it came out, you might find someone who'll sell a copy.
  14. Absoloutely nothing wrong with that advert, I do exactly the same - artist - title - label - condition - reissue.
  15. If it's got a stamped in number and a proper Nashville matrix stamp, it's real, if it's got a scratched in number of any description, it's fake, still it's scarce now on that bootleg so you paid about the right price if it turns out to be the pressing
  16. What the f*ck are you on about Ken, I just quoted a magazine article, what's wrong with that?
  17. Careful with this Steve, there is a very convincing counterfeit, if it doesn't have a stamped matrix number it's a bootleg
  18. ONE OF MY FAVOURITE ENDERS AND VERY, VERY HARD TO FIND. SOLD MY FIRST ONE TO CARL WILLINGHAM, ENDED UP BUYING IT BACK OFF HIM VIA JOHN MANSHIP. SECOND ONE I GOT FROM DAVE FLYNN, TRADED THAT BUT I MISSED IT SO I FOUND ANOTHER ONE WHICH IS THE COPY I HAVE FOR SALE NOW, AND AM ONLY SELLING THIS BECAUSE I GOT A BELGIAN PICTURE SLEEVE COPY. I DON'T THINK THIS WAS EVER ISSUED AS A STOCK COPY. THE GUY I GOT THIS ONE OFF, AN EXPERIENCED US DEALER, SAID THIS WAS THE ONLY COPY HE'D EVER HAD. THE KNICKERBOCKERS - WISHFUL THINKING / COME AND GET IT - CHALLENGE 59366 DEMO. A FEW LIGHT MARKS BUT IT PLAYS NEAR MINT, THE SOUND CLIP IS OFF MY OLD COPY, THE ONE HERE IS BETTER THAN THAT WITH NO CLICKS, NOTHING. IT HAS WRITING ON THE A SIDE LABEL. P.S. ON THE PHOTO BELOW, THE FLASH FROM THE CAMERA HAS CUT THE END OFF THE WORD 'THINKING' I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THE WHOLE WORD IS ACTUALLY THERE! £75 FREE POSTAGE. NO OFFERS. SOUND CLIP HERE AND PIC BELOW, CHEERS /more/soul-library/27141-knickerbockers-wishful-thinking/

I've sold to and bought from Steve Davis, in the early days of ebay he used to sell a lot of Northern. Sold to Wayne Hemmingway on ebay, Tim Burgess of The Charlatans on ebay, several non-Northern scene but very famous DJ's, probably more but I don't think of them as being 'famous', just normal customers. I was more star-struck when I met Dave Hill from Slade in my village post office (until I found out he was a miserable grumpy old c*nt)
  23. Well done Kev, a good morning's work! Demand was a boot label from 79. The Dionne Warwick is 12-15 quid.
  24. Strange because it's definitely working on the site https://podcastmachine.com/podcasts/4425/episodes/27519 try that one
