  1. It's an advert for alka-seltzer, hence him being in trouble because he ate the whole thing. It is, honestly.
  2. Thanks Ken but whats that got to do with my question about Polydor?
  3. I got 1G free bandwith and it's been used up within 12 hours, too many people downloaded it! so the site froze to a halt, I've upgraded to a pay account now so it should be working again.
  4. Any chance you could tell us what the Polydor records are cos I can't make most of them them out?
  5. I've reported him.
  6. It was, long ago, but sadly not now - glad you enjoyed it though, had a few people said they liked it, made a change sort of thing.
  7. I've sent a message to this arrogant seller, anyone else fancy telling him it's a bootleg, he might get the message.

It's a horrible record full stop...though Cliff on one of the crossover threads reckons the pinnacle of soul music and I'm mental for not appreciating it. Pile of sh*t.
  10. FROM PETE SMITH Pete.smith@freeuk.com JUST A QUICKIE, I'VE MADE A NEW PODCAST SITE AND THIS ONE IS SPECIFICALLY FOR ME TO HAVE A BIT MORE FUN WITH. THE ONE I'M USING AT THE MOMENT, I UPLOAD WHAT I LIKE TO THINK ARE PRETTY GOOD COMPILATIONS OF NORTHERN SOUL AND SKA/REGGAE STUFF. THIS NEW ONE, I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO KEEP ON DOING THAT BUT ALSO PUT A FEW MORE ODDBALL THINGS UP, LIKE SAY A FREAKBEAT SHOW OR A PUNK SHOW WHATEVER. AND ALSO BE ABLE TO PUT UP NORTHERN COMPILATIONS WITHOUT PEOPLE CRITICISING THEM FOR CONTAINING BRITISH POP STOMPERS! SO I'LL SEND OUT NOTIFACTIONS AS I USUALLY DO WITH THE PODBEAN SITE, I JUST THOUGHT IT ALSO MIGHT MAKE A NICE CHANGE TO HEAR SOMETHING DIFFERENT. THE ADDRESS FOR THE FIRST ONE IS https://podcastmachine.com/podcasts/4425/episodes/20069 AND THE TRACK LISTING IS Various 45's ALAN HAVEN - IMAGE (FONTANA) WIMPLE WINCH - SAVE MY SOUL (FONTANA) TONY JACKSON - FORTUNE TELLER (PYE) THE CHORDS - MAYBE TOMORROW (POLYDOR) RICH KIDS - GHOSTS OF PRINCES IN TOWERS (EMI) ROY BUDD - CARTER (PYE) TODD RUNDGREN - I SAW THE LIGHT (BEARSVILLE) LINDA LEWIS - ROCK A DOODLE DOO (RAFT) DAVID BOWIE - CAN'T HELP THINKING ABOUT ME (PYE) SHORTY - PRESIDENT MASH UP THE RESIDENT (GREEN DOOR) MIKE STUART SPAN - CHILDREN OF TOMORROW (JEWEL) MARK WIRTZ - HE'S OUR DEAR OLD WEATHERMAN (PARLOPHONE) ORANGE JUICE - SIMPLY THRILLED HONEY (POSTCARD) ALAN FREED ROCK & ROLL ORCHESTRA - RIGHT NOW, RIGHT NOW (CORAL) J.B. & THE HAEKS - COMBINATION BOOGIE (CHANCE) TOGGERY FIVE - BYE BYE BIRD (COLUMBIA) TONY KEELING - IT'S A CRYING SHAME (PYE) PRINCE BUSTER - TRAIN TO GIRL'S TOWN (FAB) THE ETHIOPIANS - THE WORLD GOES SKA (DOCTOR BIRD) WILD SWANS - REVOLUTIONARY SPIRIT (ZOO) WAH HEAT - BETTER SCREAM (INEVITABLE) ANDY ELLISON - IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME (TRACK) RUPERTS PEOPLE - REFLECTIONS OF CHARLES BROWN (COLUMBIA) I'LL GET A NORTHERN ONE AND A ROCKSTEADY/REGGAE ONE UP IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS CHEERS PETE
  11. Here's an interesting fact. Maybe. The actual singer of I'm On Fire was the girl once known as Karol Keyes who did a great version of One In A Million on UK Columbia and also did You Beat Me To The Punch on Fontana. As for a US version - there must be one, a sizeable UK hit like that would have got a US release I should think
  12. Bet the Ellusions was about £75
  13. OK, well I think Nancy turned up the first metro copy and sold it to me, I played it and could hear immediately it was different. If it had been turned up before, nobody had spotted the difference! The Metro version has a lot more echo on the vocals - it's great, I prefer it to the Crackerjack one. So yes, absolutely a different mix.
  14. James if you're really going to sell your rrcords you've only got one option - ring John Manship - he'll give you a fair price, quickly.
  15. James Trouble would surely know that "I'm your pimp" was never issued on a single (legitimately)

I've got a few of these, one has a passable version of You're Ready Now.
  19. Rob, you may be interested to know that you were dj'ing at the first allnighter I ever went to - Sammies 1975 - so you certainly have put the time in!
  20. Keep it, that guy is the worst dealer on ebay, sent me a Marv Johnson record which hissed for the first 30 seconds and when I complained he literally said "What do you expect, it's 45 years old". He has more negative feedbacks than anyone else on ebay and what an attitude. Click this https://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=thuds&Dirn=Received+by&ref=home

    No reply
  22. Why don't you just put SOLD next to it then and stop bumping your list to the top every time you sell something? Just thought I'd ask...
