  1. Mine's a styrene Jamiacan pressing on Federal.
  2. Horses for courses. I liked lots of the non-soul stuff: Talking Heads, New York Dolls, Tom Petty, Patti Smith, Dr Feelgood etc. Lindisfarne made me feel a bit sick though
  3. Not to mention bloody Lindisfarne. Get yer 'air cut!
  4. Blimey! Just two nutters though - third bidder dropped out at £20...

There are 45s by Mystic Five and Wendell Holmes with the same label design but most releases seem to have the plain type logo.
  6. The EP containing See and Don't See isn't Canadian - it's a US promo for the LP. It comes in a sleeve that's a variation of the one used on the album.
  7. Are they suggesting that they've got rid of the one in Manchester where my mum and dad met in the 50s - it was still there last time I looked...

You're probably right Greg - although it's not just about taking advantage of people who are new to gospel collecting: describing this Eric and the Vikings issue as "undocumented" and charging £100 for it is just an out and out lie - it's probably the most common variation! https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/Search/vikings/ Is this where I get to call him a despicable fecker again...?

I assume Bobby Moore = Score...

Sisters Love too. Previous threads on this - definite boots was the conclusion I believe.
  13. I'd suggest that you should maybe learn how to spell vinyl before picking others up on their English....

Agreed. Let's hope nobody does. I don't buy the argument that because someone lacks knowledge or common sense it's ok to exploit them. That despicable specimen has to be one of the most cynical and unethical record sellers around.
  15. and this one went for over $5K in 2002... https://www.lelands.com/auction/AuctionDetail/11875/December-2002/Americana/Posters-and-Handbills/Lot435~Smokey-Robinson-and-The-Miracles-Boxing-Style-Concert-Poster
  16. 9 x 6.5 inch handbill.
  17. The 45 is credited to writers B Riley and C Underwood. I guess that could be Carl Underwood, as I believe he was from LA. Don't know if he played any instruments in addition singing? More intriguinging is the B Riley credit: Billy Lee Riley was mean harmonica player and he moved to LA in 1962 to take up session work. Bet it's him on the record.
  18. Serenade was essentially an instrumental version of the Electric Prunes - I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night. Don't click the link if you're not a fan of 60s garage/psych
  19. I'd love to see him on here. I suspect he'd not last much longer than Levine than did though...
  20. One of the few people on here that I didn't know in the real world yet genuinely felt I had a connection with - mainly because of his cracking attitude to life, music and everything. I'm so very sorry hear this news. The loss of Pikey's Dog significantly diminishes this site. Please pass my condolences to Joe's family. Paul (Godz)
